View NotesIt's the 2017 Jed Luckless Holiday Revue Live at Darkstar in Secondlife! This is the 9th year of Jed's annual Holiday show and as always it benefits a good cause, this year the internet knowledge base Wikipedia. This makes for a fun, light show full of great tunes, some hot jams and a few useless factoids! The show starts off with a bang as Jed launches into drums on a rocking version of Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" compelte with "celebrity" voices endorsing Wikipedia. It's a great start, and Jed rolls it right into a groovin' "Silver Bells" followed by "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," which includes the requisite legal disclaimers. The next stop on the revue is "Winter Wonderland" followed by a bustout of "Grandma Got Runover By A Reindeer" (not played at the Holiday Revue since 2013). It also features a nice "Dreydel" tease. The first set wraps up with a powerful two punch featuring a "Silver And Gold" jam paired with the Kink's rocker "Father Christmas" and a foreshadowing "Drummer Boy" tease. It's a fun intermission this year, featuring Jed doing his best impressions of celebrities reading real tidbits of knowledge from Wikipedia. Second set opens in style with the green haired "Grinch" theme featuring a "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" tease, before Jed takes off for the North Pole with an extended jazzy take on "My Favorite Things" followed by a nearly twenty minute "Little Drummer Boy" that goes deep and features a wicked "Favorite Things" tease. The transition jam out of "Drummer Boy" is beautifully haunting, which leads perfectly into the Pretender's "2000 Miles." The mood lightens quickly with the appearance of the "Heat And Snow Miser" and the set closes out with "The Most Wonderful Time of The Year." A double encore with a Christmas list theme features The Weepies' "All That I Want" coupled with Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas." This is another super fun Jed Luckless Holiday event, with a fantastic batch of seasonal tunes and tasty jams! And all for a good cause. Give it a listen, and donate to Wikipedia! Enjoy :)
