View NotesIt's the second half of Jammin Jed's "Bakers Duo," or "the underside of the donut" as he puts it! This is the second installment of a two-part event featuring Jed Luckless with Moondance Parx on lights performing together live at Jedstead studios and broadcasting in Secondlife and on Facebook Live. The phrase "Bakers Duo" is an homage to Phish's "Bakers Dozen" event which was going on at the same time in NYC. Jed's show features a lot of original music, but of course manages to include some Phish covers too! First set opens with Jed's 'historical' rocker "2000 Pikes" but forgoes any extended jam and opts instead for "Lead Me" as a follow-up, from his "All At Once" album. The 'western' story tune "Ride With The Devil" comes next, paired as usual with it's instrumental partner "One And." The highlight jam of the set emerges unexpectedly out of the bluesy "Moved To The Country," and segues into the folky tale of the "Ten Ounces." The first Phish cover of the night is next, and it's a nice fifteen minute "Sand" featuring some cool keyboard leads. Story night continues with "Shirtless Joe" to close the set. Second set opens strongly with "Back Again" and "Latest Craze" providing over thirty minutes of tight tunage and tasty jams. Jed is in the zone on this segment, and was totally in tune with the light show from Moondance Parx. It gives way to the sultry "Give It Up," followed by an acoustic cool down with "All The Same." A couple rare songs from Jed's 'Luna Suite' make an appearance, namely "Incorporation" and it's companion piece "The ARC." A newer ballad gives us a breather, and it's a beautiful song called "Secret Language," delivered powerfully here. The calypso sing-along "By and Bye" wraps up the set, but a long encore is forthcoming. The encore opens with another powerful song from Jed, an emotional rocker called "Feel," followed by the typical show closer "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea." But in honor of "Bakers Doze," Jed and Moonie tack on "Character Zero" and "Sleeping Monkey" for the Phans! This is a fun special event, with some killer jams and alot of great storytelling. Enjoy!
