This one is an historic Jed show which took place at a surprise party for one of Jed's biggest supporters and street team members, Ribon, on her 3rd rez-day in Secondlife. Jed and the gang surprised her with a show that re-creates a concert which took place one day before she rezzed. The show starts off with a nod to Ribon's third, with the Schoolhouse Rock classic "Three Is A Magic Number," and you can tell it's gonna be a fun night right from the start. Jed then launches into his re-creation of a show he played on July 16, 2014, one day before Ribon's rez-day, and a show she "missed by that much." It's a two set Grateful Dead experience that kicks off with the surly "Me An My Uncle" and continues the debauchery with "Hell In A Bucket," spawning the highlight jam of the first set, a high energy rocker reminicienst of the Zep grooves Jed had delivered a few weeks earlier at Jed Zeppelin. It finds its way into "Cosmic Charlie," followed by the Elvis classic "That's Alright Mama," and a nice "Ramble On Rose." Jed brings it down for a moment with "High Time," before revving up again on "Brown Eyed Women," and the set closer, which may be the highlight of the whole set, a powerful guitar rendition of the Brent Mydland tune "Blow Away," with some great vocalizations. Second set starts off punchy with "Beat It On Down The Line," and bounces along into "Peggy Oh," which features some nice guitar work from Jed. So does "Little Red Rooster," which finds him using the bottleneck slide, and building the song to a frenetic peak before splashing into "Wharf Rat." It's the centerpeice of the show, extending to twenty-two minutes with a jam that features crunchy organ and rapid fire guitar. The jam gives way to a nice drum segment with all types of percussion and a space that gets real trippy. The whole thing explodes with a bang and the smoke clears over "Black Muddy River," a powerful tune in which Jed delivers a nice guitar solo. He barely takes a breath before launching into the energetic closer, "Sugar Magnolia," followed by a Bob Dylan encore "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" with one last jam to end the night. This is an important Jed show in that it bridges a modern era Jed show with the bronze age of his Grateful Dead expreience shows and wraps it up with the joy of a rez-day celebration for a good friend. It has a great vibe throughout and a deep GD setlist that any Head would enjoy, along with some great jams and an excellent Drums & Space portion. Enjoy!
