View NotesThis one is a show from late in the 2017 Jed Luckless Winter Rocks Tour in Secondlife. The tour featured a cool snowy rock stage set and a wintry light show from Moondance Parx and the duo performed two shows at each of the venues on the tour. This was the second stop at Commune Utopia, on March 20, 2017 and it's an unexpectedly special show. For some reason, Jed decided to play an entire show of songs written in or inspired by Maine, one of his favorite places to retreat to every summer. It's a wonderful musical journey through vacationland via Jed's memories of Penobscot Bay, full of great songs, a nice jam or two, and a tribute encore. First set starts out where Jed's Maine journey started, with "Mr. Beaman" and the 'Kedge' a nineteenth century farmhouse on a small island off the coast of Maine. It's followed by an instrumental Jed wrote while watching the daily mail boat go by in the bay, and then the blues song named after that same boat, "Miss Lizzy." After some brief talk about the songs, Jed launches into "The 86" a song about a boat, coupled with the first real jam of the night, a bouncy rocker that dissolves nicely into the sentimental "Barter Creek." Another song about a boat comes next, this time a lobster boat name of "Geneva Sue." The set closes with the bluegrass-y "Where The Mountain Meets The Sea." Second set kicks off with "The Story of Shirtless Joe," followed by another instrumental born in Penobscot, the french inspired "Doigter." After a brief tour update, Jed slows things down with "You Touched Me" then picks it right up again with "Time and Tide" with a rocking solo section. The pop-rocker "Still In Luv With U" closes the set, and a special Chuck Berry tribute of "No Particular Place To Go" ends the evening. This is a really interesting show that gives an inside look at some very personal Jed songs that have only been played together this one time. Definitely worth checking out especially if you like Jed's stories! Enjoy!
