View NotesDTS-Audio-CD 5.1 Mix More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from FLAC files. Brokedown House Production

SBD (3908) + AUD (82801) + AUD (3325)
Taper Notes:
View NotesThe entire show is seamless and can be burned to CD with any splits desired. Because there is a several second break after "I Will Take You Home" and before "Drums" I found that to be the best spot as not to cut any transisitions (like the usual drums > space). Plus this leaves us with 3 somewhat equal length CDs. Most between song tuning/crowd cheer was missing on the SBD source as well as a few spots on the AUD sources. As usual, a trememdous effort was made to have the between song flow sound as smooth and natural as possible. Several techniques were used to do this including volume adjustments, crossfades and borrowing crowd cheers from other portions of the recording.

View NotesThe day before I located the California ctrew with Taz Yamaguchi in it and was able to connect up with them on this day and patched out of their avant garde Dbx 224 noise reduciton box set-up out of the Dolby side. The show was not as strong as day one, but the vibe was so mellow. "Never had such a good time". the Grateful Dead sure loved maine and played strng shows there over the years, including these two. The Beatles ending of Set II was unusual, if not one of a kind. ** Set I ends sort of unexpectadly after Birdsong. Possibly due to an u;tra-light plane appearing over the crowd finishing its' appearance with a swoop close to the stage which may have had the crew deciding to shut down early. Only my speculation.
