April 7, 2008 Patch Info: FM -> Cassette Master -> ? -> PCM -> Dat -> CD (shnid=15098) supplies: Space (6:16 - 6:24) Notes: -- Disc change is seamless -- Thanks to Joe B. Jones for his help with the pitch correction SBD2 (shnid=15098) - only used for patches Source: Pre-FM broadcast Lineage: Master Reel> VHS (PCM)> DAT> CD> SHN Note: While a "master reel" seems unlikely for 1988 (the VHS is more likely the master tape), the frequency spectrum suggests that this is indeed a pre-broadcast reel, with content above 15K Hz. AUD (shnid=90487) (Set 1 Right channel and all of set 2 both channels) Namamichi CM300's w/CP4 shotguns > Sony TC-D5M > Maxell MX-90's, with no Dolby. Mics on stand in OTS. Taped by Ted Carpenter. Transfer: MAC > Nakamichi DR-8 (no Dolby) > Audiophile 2496 analog-in > Soundforge > CD-Wave > TLH > FLAC. Transferred by Andrew F. Feb 2008. Notes: - Patches from Shn-ID 82671 cover tape flips as follows: - Masterpiece, 0:01 > 0:18. - Space, from 0:09 until mended at 0:33.964 (patch not complete). - NFA (crowd chant) 6:32 > NFA Reprise 0:01. - Disc break is seamless. - Alternate burn option: make Disc One as first set plus NFA Reprise and OMSN (59:40), make Disc Two as second set (79:56). - Soundforge used to make fades, add patches, and adjust levels. - TLH used for SBE-OK, FLAC compression, and making checksums. --------------------------------------------------------- - Mixed by

- FLAC conversion 25-APR-2008 --------------------------------------------------------- Multitrack Mixdown Settings SET ONE Stereo Matrix SBD -0 AUD -0 SET TWO Stereo Matrix SBD -0 AUD -0 --------------------------------------------------------- Audio Patches: 1) At the beginning of soundboard, 30.988 seconds were missing from the SBD1 source and was filled in with audio from the AUD source. 2) At the beginning of Space, 39.533 seconds were missing from the AUD source and was filled in with audio from the SBD2 source. 3) During the crowd chant before the encore, 1 minute and 16.530 seconds were missing from the AUD source and was filled in with audio from the SBD2 source. 4) As this matrix was made to use with video of set 1, both AUD\SBD sources were synced to video source for set 1. The AUD speed was almost identical to video so it was used as reference for set 2. The SBD1 source ran slightly slow at about .5% or .100 seconds per minute minute. Brokedown House Production

The first 2:20 of Big Boss Man was missing so I patched it from a different source. There is also short gap in Deal from a tape flip which is also filled in from the same source.. --------------------------------- R.I.P. Sandy - aka "Bigfoot" ---------------------------------

- FLAC conversion 26-APR-2008 --------------------------------------------------------- Audio Patches: 1) At the beginning of soundboard, 30.988 seconds were missing from the SBD1 source and was filled in with audio from the AUD source. 4) As the matrix was made to use with video of set 1, both AUD\SBD sources were synced to video source for set 1. The AUD speed was almost identical to video so it was used as reference for set 2. The SBD1 source ran slightly slow at about .5% or .100 seconds per minute minute. ------------------------------------------------------- Front Left Channel SBD -0db Right Channel SBD -0db Center Mixed to mono -0db SBD Surround Left Channel -0db AUD Right Channel -0db AUD Sub/LFE Mixed to mono -0db SBD -------------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from FLAC files. Brokedown House Productions
