View NotesSource Info SBD (ShnID = 93080) Recording Info: SBD > PCM > AIFF Transfer Info: AIFF > Samplitude Professional v10.1 > FLAC All Transfers and Mastering By Charlie Miller [email protected], July 22, 2008 AUD (ShnID = 77988) AKG 414 B/TL mics, cardioid pattern ORTF > Oade PS > Sony PCM F1. Transfer: PCM 601 > Sony DTC2000ES DAT > M-Audio Delta 410 > Soundforge > Samplitude Professional V8.01 > waves X Crackle > FLACl6 Taped by Robert Bryant, Transfered by Rich Gastwirt, Edited by Bob Loy Patch Info Nakamichi CM304's > Sony D5M, OTS, Stand at 9 Feet Transfer: Nak CR5A > Lunatec V3(analog out) > 722@24/96 > Adobe Audition 2.0 dither and resample 16Bit > Cdwave > FLAC16 Taped by Tony Suraci, Transfer and upload by Tony Suraci aka nak700 Thanks to all the hard work from the folks mentioned above with their loving care getting these sources out. Also a thanks for some of the images used in creation of the artwork. I found them years ago on the net and do not have any way to properly credit. --------------------------------------------------------- Notes on the Source Material SBD (ShnID = 93080) Another flawless transfer by Charlie Miller. However I do not think this is a SBD recording. Either FM or Pre-FM (most likely Pre-FM). You can see there is some limiting on the dynamic range and but the real giveaway is the station ID in Sug Mags. AUD1 (ShnID = 31211) Nice sounding AUD recording from the tapers section. Nice balanced sound and a clean transfer. Few spots of minor static that cannot really even be heard. --------------------------------------------------------- Tech Notes FLACs were decoded to wave. Wavemerge was used to reassemble the entire show back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align & synch both of the sources. SF8.0 used to EQ and adjust the volume for the center, surround and LFE channels. Surcode CD Pro DTS was used to encode to DTS. - Mixed by [email protected] - FLAC conversion done 24-MAY-2008 - Artwork at 300dpi by [email protected] - For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. Design for use in a clear, slim double CD case. --------------------------------------------------------- DTS-Audio-CD Info Front Left Channel SBD Right Channel SBD Center Mono Mix -5db SBD DEQ'd Surround Left Channel AUD -2db Right Channel AUD -2db Sub/LFE Mono Mix SBD DEQ'd -4db --------------------------------------------------------- Notes The entire show is seamless and can be burned in any config that you want and can be played back in its entirety from start to finish without interruption. d1t01 "Tuning" was missing on the SBD source and was patched from a matrix mix of the AKG 414 and the NAK304's. This fades to the SBD before the first song starts. d1t08 "Space" was missing from the SBD and AUD source and was patched with an EQ'd portion of the NAK304's. d2t10 "Sugar Magnolia" there is a station ID at the start of the song. This is the only station ID on the whole show. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound like DTS, Dolby Digital and DVD-Audio. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio-CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from FLAC files.

View NotesPart of my Original Master Rescue Project. Notes: This is the second tape I ever made, with brand-new equipment and no experience, and still in remarkable condition. If I had to go back, I'd use cardioid heads - the Greek was so small that shotguns could focus on such a small section of the stack that you might miss out on a full mix ofa whole band member; and you got less audience, which is kind of the point of an Audience tape. An odd setlist. Widely praised as a best of these three Greeks, of the tour, kind of thing. Nice Bucket -> Franklin's, 2nd set opens with pleasant mini-space weirdness, has an unusually place Deal. Great post-drums 2nd set. The opening of Watchtower was a moment so electric that all your hair stood out from your body, half of it from the band's playing energy, half audience adrenaline; it hit like a whirlwind. Many compliments on Archive.org: "...people were freaking out," "Amazing show," And after the show, many looks and comments along the lines of "...How about that shit!" Not being very bright or experienced, I wasted tape on people chatting, an inclination I would come to regret the next night as I ran out and had to scramble. But, it allowed me to include a few minutes of the audience smoking and socializing after the end of Set 1, so I've done so, as I find it a pleasant auditory experience. Only posting in 96/24 to keep the sound quality up, and because I have a big pile to get through... feel free to down sample it with r8brain (a free download,) if you need, but I officially object.
