View NotesHere's one from the Jed Luckless 2021 Fall Tour! This show was actually the tour closer, and it was at a venue Jed had never played before called Burrow Company. Upon load in, it became apparent Jed and Moonie had too much gear for the barn, so they moved everything outside on a froze pond and delilvered a great concert under the stars! Following on the heels of Jed's Beatles tribute show the night before, he opens up this one with the Monkees and a tribute to Michael Nesmith who had just passed away. Jed pairs "Last Train To Clarksville" with "Daydream Believer" and it's a perfect opening to the show. Next up is a cover of Mark Gutenplan's "Remember This Night," which Jed opens up into a nice jam that features a cool "xylophone" solo. He then segues into the mellow "Own" in the fourth spot. He picks things up again with a newer rocker called "The Last Show," before launching into Phish's "My Sweet One," which includes Jed's typical "cat story" embedded in it, this one a telling of the story of "Claws the Christmas Cat." It's a super fun rendition and great way to close the first set. Second set opens in typical fashion with Jed's epic rocker "Victim Of The Rhythm," which extends to over twenty-one minutes before transitioning into another Monkess tribute with "Stepping Stone." The instrumental "Doigter" is next and it spawns and uncharacteristic improv jam that segues into the melancholoy "Celebrate Instead." It was the biggest original bustout of the night, having not been played live in over a year, and unfortunately it kind of shows. But Jed shrugs it off and jumps right into one Monkees tune, the peppy "I'm A Believer," which had the whole audience singing along. The encore is a preview of the upcoming Holiday concert with "Silver And Gold." This is good show considering it's the end of the tour and the energy level was askew. It was also a new and unfamiliar venue so the flow seems a bit off. But Jed and Moonie still deliver a fun show, and if you're a Monkees fan this one is definitely for you. Enjoy!
