View NotesIt's night two at The Mumbling Goat on Jed's 2021 Fall Tour! This was the second of two "back to back" shows, that were actually a few days apart. Moondance Parx joined Jed for both shows. The first one was an absolute rocker and this one follows suit! First set opens with a fantastic version of the fan favorite "The Song With Words And Stuff" a song by Cailidgh Spires that always infuses instant fun. Jed's poignant cityscape "I Love You," is up next with a nicely paired "Moved To The Country" following it. In the clean up position is a home run hitting Phish cover, "Chalkdust Torture," which Jed opens up into the first long jam of the night which keeps the Phish going with a segue into "Dirt." Another fan fave hits next with the irreverant "Throw It Down The Hill," and the upbeat bluegrasser "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" closes out the first frame. Second set opens with a monster "Latest Craze" which extends to nearly twenty-one minutes before settling down into a very good version of "Side Door," a tune often played with the Jed Luckless Band, but possibly a GOAT version here for a solo Jed performance of it. A nicely placed "The Freeze" is up next, followed closely by Jed's contemplative quarantine tune "The Birds Don't Know." There hasn't been much Grateful Dead on this tour, but that changes here with a powerhouse combination of "Playing In The Band" and "Standing On The Moon." The jam in between the two is simply wonderful, and the reprise puts a powerful exclamation on the end of the second set. A two song encore features the emotional "I Know There's Something" and the always classic ender, Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times." This is a high energy show at a cool venue with an awesome crowd featuring alot of great cover songs from Phish, The Dead, Zep, and others, in addition to some fantastic versions of classic Jed tunes, including a super fun "Throw It Down The Hill" and a top notch "Side Door." Another killer show on a tour full of standout performances from Jed and Moonie! Enjoy!
