Jed and Moondance return to Killiney Beach for the second of two back to back shows there on Jed's 2021 Fall Tour! This is a rare Sunday night show and the saying holds true: "Never miss a Sunday show!" Jed delivered a water themed setlist the night before, and he has something else special in store for those who came out on Sunday night. The show opens up nicely with "Multiply," followed by the mellow and contemplative "All The Same." In the third slot is "Someday Be Me," a tune from Jed's brief 90's stint in a band called "Slip and Fall." The clean up position is filled by "End of Time," a song written at the outset of the pandemic and only played a handful of times, but this version is for sure a standout, with a nice solo section from Jed and awesome lights by Moonie. Jed tries to drop hints on the theme, but it's a tough one for the crowd to pick up on. He continues with the western tale "Ride With The Devil," followed by another newer tune, the alt-rocker "Always Alone." Pointing out the titles of each songs, Jed is trying to transmit the theme, but still no luck. He finishes out the set with a soaring version of "The Kid That Tried To Fly" and the debut of his 'Let's Make a Deal' audition song "I Wanna Be Your Homie," and only then does it finally click with the audience that it's a spellin theme, and the setlist spells "MASERATI." Appropriately, second set opens with "Maserati," Jed's compact turbo-charged instrumental, but here he puts his pedal to the metal and takes off into an improv jam that makes up most of the second set. It starts off with a kind of classic rock and roll oriented jam, with motor and car horn effects included. It shifts slighty into a more uplifting major key segment featuring some high flying guitar riffs. Jed slows down for a curve into a funky backbeat driven portion again featuring blistering echo-y guitar work. This is followed by a nice ambient section featuring soothing synth. It escaltes with the addition of wah-wah guitar to it (and a Brady Bunch tease), before gear-shifting back into a high octane rhythm with blazing fast guitar solos from Jed and incredible lights from Moonie. It's a 46 minute jam and when the smoke clears, Phish's song "Driver" emerges nicely from it. The set closes on a high note with Jed's bluegrassy "Used To Feel Good." The encore is a tribute to the recently deceased Bob Dorough, known for his work on Schoolhouse Rock, so Jed delivers his debut of "I'm Just A Bill." Incidentally, the last three tunes spell "D-U-I" which maybe is a commentary on Jed playing the show under the influece. Don't drink and play! So it's true. Never miss a Sunday show! This is an incredible, rare type of show with a well thought out setlist that spells something fun, and then delivers on it with the massive Maserati jam. That is obviously the centerpiece of the concert, but there are also some standout versions of songs like "Someday Be Me," and "End Of Time," a debut of "I Wanna Be Your Homie," and a couple great covers, including the Phish tune and the Schoolhouse Rock tribute. Definitely a show worth listening to! Enjoy!
