View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2021 Fall Tour pulls into Secondlife's Dublin region with a two-night stand on Killiney Beach, a cool shoreline spot where Jed and Moonie set up a nice big festival stage, adorned with a banner that read "High Tides and Good Vibes." And the vibes definitely were good! Jed opens the show with a rocking version of Phish's "Sand" followed by his seaside parable "The Story of Shirtless Joe." "The 86" fills the third position, with it's soaring solo section stealing the spotlight and then giving way to a nice improv jam. By the time it lands in the gentle "Time And Tide," the crowd starting figuring out that Jed was playing all water or sea related tunes. Sure enough, he rolls out "Geneva Sue" (about a boat) and "Lightship" (about another boat), reaffiring the set's theme. "Lightship" provides a rocking solo, then gives way to Phish's "Water In The Sky" to close the set. The water theme continues in set II as Jed opens with a Genesis song called "Home By The Sea." He extends into a nice long jam featuring some very Genesis-y snyth leads and wicked guitar riffs. It breaks down into an intense feedback ambience that reveals the rare "Mailboat Jam" which is an instrumental piece that has its own improv jam tacked on. It slides appropriately into the blueser "Miss Lizzy" which Jed explains is the name of a mailboat in Maine. The GuRGLe era collaboration "Devil And The Deep Blue Sea," is up next and also features a nice improv jam with cool a vibrato guitar effect. It transitions into the peaceful "Barter Creek," followed by the often Grateful Dead covered Johnny Cash tune "Big River." The encore completes the evening's theme with Phish's "Wading In The Velvet Sea." This is a wonderful themed show on a beach in Secondlife with songs about boats, water and the ocean, and it features a great mix of tunes, a few outstanding jams, and three Phish covers! Enjoy!
