View NotesThe Jed Luckless 2021 Fall Tour makes a stop at Jed's home field, Commune Utopia, where he and Moondance set up on the beach for a two night stand! Jed opens with "Back Again," a song off his 2010 album "All At Once" and good tune to start with considering it's been nine months since Jed played at Commune. He follows it up with "Lead Me," another cut off the "All At Once" album but not the last time this evening he will visit that particular disc. The somber but wishful "Listen To The Angels" is next, and though it's not typically a jam vehicle, Jed opens it up into the first exploratory improv of the night. It segues into the beautiful instrumental "Meredith" after which Jed starts rocking again with a more recent tune called "Homewrecker." The set closes with a pairing from Jed's Luna Suite, with the title track "Luna" and a nice long version of "The Constable." Second set opens strongly with the fan favorite "Sugar Pop" which spawns a massive jam that clocks in over 28 mins and is fast paced and guitar driven the whole time. It gives way to another cut off the "All At Once" album, the wonderfully emotional "Smile Forever," written for Dave Nolan. Appropriately Jed follows it with a Grateful Dead tune, the jam vehicle "Eyes Of The World," which delivers on that promise with a bouncy and uplifting jam. Yet another cut from the "All At Once" album finds its way into the set next with "Sunlight." The bouncy blue-grasser "Slipping Through My Hands," closes out the second set, and a rare "So Much For O.J." makes an appearance in the encore slot in light of the Rittenhouse trial on TV. This is a great show with really good energy at a familiar venue, and it features a bevy of songs from the "All At Once" era of 2009-10. But it also includes some great rockers and awesome jams, along with a fantastic Grateful Dead cover. Enjoy!
