View NotesIt's the final show in a wild three show run at Gonjaland in Secondlife and Jed brings it home in style with a top notch, high energy concert! Of course Moondance lit up the house too! "Ten Ounces" is a perfect opener for the show, with its cannabis oriented tale of intrigue. The second slot is used for a tribute to moe guitarist Chuck Garvey who recently suffered a stroke, which Jed debuting the moe song "Okay Alright." The lost love story of "Jackie" is up next, and it uncharacteristically opens up into a fast paced rocking jam with some cool crystally synth sounds and a foreshadowing tease of Phish's "First Tube." The pandemic era rocker "Send Me A Package" makes an appearance followed by the bluesy party tune "Old Town Hall." Jed closes the set on a super high note with Phish's "Suzy Greenberg," with references to Sci-Fi Soldier's 'Holy Blankenstein' and '4680.' Second set opens with the pop-rocker "Nothing's Ever Free" which quickly turns into an intense jam featuring some nice piano work and killer guitar leads. A brief ambient transition leads into a nice version of the fan favorite "Throw It Down The Hill." The show took place on Veterans Day, so Jed dedicates a couple of appropriate tunes with "Friendly Burial" and "Bring Our Brothers Home," joined with an awesome improv jam spanning twenty eight minutes. It has multiple segments, starting off with fast paced melodic rhythms followed by some nice "leslie" effect guitar ambience before shifting into a cool, battle inspired drum solo and spacey guitar segment. Coming out of the battlefield is a funky segment with wah wah guitar and theramin. Jed lightens things up next with the double entendres of "Roll Over," and follows it with a great set closer, another pandemic era tune called "The Last Show." The double encore includes a song written by Jed's dad called "Ungratefully Dead," and the always fun show closer, Phish's super high energy instrumental "First Tube." This is an exceptional show from the 2021 Fall Tour, illustrating the power of multi-show runs...the energy really built up over three nights at the venue and exploded on the last night. There's alot here for the listener - fun songs like "Ten Ounces" and "Throw It Down The Hill," a moe dedication, a veteran's dedication, a couple newer pandemic era Jed tunes, and a few outstanding must-hear jams. Enjoy!
