View NotesThe Jed Luckless Band hits the stage at Panorama in Secondlife for the final show in a three show run! The first two shows were both hot ones, and JLB delivers one more rager for the fans chock full of original debuts and rocking covers. The first set opens with Mark Gutenplan's "Remember This Night" and immediately the band goes into jam mode, extending it with an improv jam that segues into the first cover of the night, Moe's "Happy Hour Hero," always a fan favorite. JLB has been introducing some new material this run which is super exciting, and the next tune is a new one called "Homewrecker," a straight up rocker with bits of fun innuendo. It's back to covers next with the Talking Heads "Cities," and another great set one jam, a funky, snythy affair that slides right into Jed's cannabis oriented "Brother Love." It's back to covers with a tasty version of Phish's "Gumbo" led by Kenny Kaufman, followed by the set closer, Jed's "Used To Feel Good," featuring solos from all the band members including Pete Martine on the drums. Second set opens with another JLB debut of a Jed tune called "The Last Show," a commentary on the lack of live music during quarantine. After the song Jed takes a moment to acknowledge a terrible tragedy that occurred at the previous night's Phish show and sends out positive vibes to the entire Phish Community. And then the band revs back up to take everyone for a wild ride with the high-octane instrumental "Maserati." It's a version that fires on all cylinders, and the fellas open it up into an impressive jam that is melodic and forceful. An ambient section featuring some trippy synth work from Mark transitions the jam into the Phish tune "Sand." It is probably the band's most covered Phish song, but this is a stand out version for sure, clocking in at nearly twelve minutes and featuring what sounds a bit like a "Tweezer" tease. The band's classic fall into winter tune "The Freeze" is perfectly timed here, and the subsequent "By And Bye" provides the perfect mood to close the set. The double encore features a dedication to Ronnie Tutt with "How Sweet It Is" (incidentally another debut for the JLB) followed by the always amazing show closer by Cailidgh Spires "The Song With Words And Stuff." This a great finale on another super fun run of shows from the JLB, featuring a bunch of great cover songs, several band debuts, and a few really nice jams. Enjoy!
