View NotesHere's the second show in a three show JLB run at Panorama in Secondlife! This is a special show, marking 10 years and 100 shows for the Jed Luckless band since they first hit the stage on 3/30/2011 at Darkstar in Secondlife. To celebrate the occasion the band opens the show with the very first song they played live, "Sneakin Sally Through The Alley," but they waste no time getting to the jams with a nice one right off the bat that finds its way into the fan favorite "Sugar Pop." Some dual guitar action ensues with "Far Gone Blues" followed by Mark Gutenplan's "Road Trip." A debut of a new Jed Luckless tune comes next called "The Birds Don't Know," a pastoral finger picker that has potential but needs some more time to gel. Kenny Kaufman leads the Gutenplan penned "FM Rock" with a nice segue into David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in honor of William Shatner's impending space journey on Blue Origin. The "FM Rock" reprise closes out the first set. Second set goes deep, starting off the the rocker and usual jam vehicle "Give It Back," which does not disappoint, delivering a hot 14 minute jam with some scorching guitar riffs from Jed. After a brief technical issue with the guitar, it segues into Jed's dark tale of the city, "Side Door," which might be one of the best versions the band has delivered to date. After a brief acknowledgement of some important fans, the band launches into the second debut of the night. It's great to be hearing new JLB material and this song called "Always Alone" is an awesome addition, with a different grungy kind of style not typical of the band. Up next is the historical story of John Brown "2000 Pikes," which produces the longest jam of the night at over 20 minutes minutes long. It's a multi-faceted improv that features a cool drum solo, dueling keyboards and a blissful resolution including a Star Trek tease from Jed. The jam slides effortlessly into the always fun cautionary tale "Moved To The Country." A poignant dedication to a lost fan features the Grateful Dead's "Franklin's Tower," and Jed's bluesy "Queen Lucille," ends the set and the show. This is an awesome show marking a very special milestone in JLB's ten year career. Not only does it feature a solid setlist with a few rare cover tunes, but also delivers some top notch jams AND two new songs! This is a must-hear show from the band's 2021 Panorama run. Enjoy!
