View NotesIt's the Jed Luckless Europe Tour 2021 closer! This show took place on July 2, 2021 at a German Second Life venue called Eagles Of Freedom M.C., a "sister" venue to French Armada where Jed played the night before. These two shows together are a great back to back finale to a great tour! The show kicks off on a high note as Cailidgh Spires makes a rare appearance in the crowd. The energy level is so high that Jed breaks a string on the very first song of the night! The opener is "Ride With The Devil," paired with it's brief antecedent "One And." After a quick string change, Jed launches into the intense "Valley Of The Saints," complete with arabic scales and middle eastern drum beats. The itensity continues next with "The 86" featuring its soaring solo segment, which opens up into a bouncy improv jam that transitions into the 2020 penned "The Birds Don't Know." After a few thank you's and hello's, Jed launches into his original "I Love You" which spawns the first real hot extended jam of the night. It's a driving rhythm featuring a nice synth solo and some great vibrato guitar tones. The jam segues into the somber "Uprooted," followed closely by the bluegrassy "Slipping Through My Hands" to end the set. After a brief sentimental tour end relfection, Jed kicks off the second set in honor of special guest Cailidgh Spires with her fan favorite song "The Song With Words And Stuff." It's a great energetic way to open the last set of the tour. Next up is "On The Shelf" which features a great "window" lighting effect and an awesome solo guitar section. After the brief vocal reprise, Jed opens it up into a high energy, fast paced jam featuring wah wah guitar and a rapid fire piano solo. A brief ambient segue leads into the gentle and romantic "I Know There's Something" followed by the forceful and raunchy "Worthless Emotion." A GuRGLe era rarity pops up next, the bouncy, self-reflective "Look Away." Noting that GuRGLe was rate America's #1 jam band in High Time magazine, Jed takes the opportunity to jam the song out with some blazing guitar work. It makes a sudden turn into a speedy version of "The Story Of Shirtless Joe," its ascending final notes closing out the set. "Queen Lucille" makes an appearance in the encore slot.
