View NotesNever miss a Sunday show! The saying holds true for this Jed show, which was night three of the Dome Run, a three-night concer event in Secondlife at The Dome. It was a small crowd, but they were treated to possibly the best show of the run, with Jed and Moonie on a high from the amazing weekend and determined to make the most of their tour closing show, which would be the last for a while. First set opens energetically with "The Story of Shirtless Joe," and you can tell Jed is bringing the heat right out of the gate. The second slot is filled by "Doesn't," which features an awesome middle jam section with jed rocking powerful guitar riffs, before kicking on his "leslie" effect and moving over to the piano. The energy is palpable, but Jed notches it down for the third tune, a great version of his instrumental "Outside Looking In." He makes a sudden setlist change to insert "Catfish Friend" into the lineup, and lucky for us because it may be one of the best live "Catfish"'s ever. The jam in it is simply off the hook, coming to a huge crescendo at the end of the tune. It feels like a very jammy show already, but they were all just extended solos...the first real improv jam of the night is yet to come, but it's up next, originating from "Each And Every Day." It's a super smooth guitar driven jam that winds it's way into "Second Hand Smile," an eclectic, multi-composition which Jed dedicates to his Dad, before launching into the fun set closer, "Forgot To Forget You." The second frame opens with the soulful "Listen To The Angels," which of course Jed opens into a massive second set jam which features a fast paced rhythm and some great guitar soloing and melodies. It shifts into a minor key with spacey guitars, before decomposing into an ambient jam. Usually Jed just uses the ambience to transition to the next song, but here he extends it into a seven minute jam on its own, taking it deep with piano and synthesizer before a seamless segue into "Water Glass." It's a great verson of the Fraizer Sinkler penned collaboration and the solo section is rocking. The fan favorite pop-rocker "Sugar Pop" is up next and Jed delivers what some in the crowd called "the best Sugar Pop ever," and he keeps the jamming going with a ripping guitar jam. But he doesn't stop there. He moves to the drum kit and bangs out a nice drum solo featuring a variety of drum types and rhythms. He even includes a rain stick before moving on to the next song, another fan favorite "Brother Love." By the end of it everyone in the crowd was singing. A Moondance request is up next, the classic "Queen Lucille, followed by one of the best show closers around "By And Bye," to put an exclamation point on the set. The Phish encore is a high energy take on "No Men In No Man's Land." Also included here is the soundcheck, which like night one and two features a Mark Gutenplan tune, this time "Remember This Night," with a nice little jam. And as an added bonus, also included is the early morning "Secret Set" that Jed performed earlier that day, which features about 35 minutes of improvisational ambience, drums and jams. This is a fantastic Jed show, and probably the best of the three nights at The Dome Run! It features a great setlist with a mix of older and newer tunes, guitar solos galore, several amazing jams, and an overal festive vibe and high energy. Never miss a Sunday Show!
