It's the Dome Run opening night! The first of a three night run of shows at The Dome in Secondlife to cap off Jammin' Jed's Winter Tour 2021. And what a tour finale it was! This one was just the beginning on Friday night March 5th, at the start of what would be a memorbale weekend in Jed history. After a brief introduction to The Dome Run and what lies ahead, along with a description of the night's signature cocktail and a plug for the Dome merch booth, Jed opens the music with his classic "The Freeze." He gets jammy quick with "Give It Back" in the second position and a nice funky and layered improv that leads into the serious "Side Door." The finger picked french song "Doigter" is up next, followed by the ever popular "Ozone Blues," the only song to be repeated three times on this tour. It launches into another nice jam featuring Jed tickling the ivories, that finds its way into the painfully honest "Some Notes On Lying." The bouncy "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea," wraps up the first frame. After a brief setbreak and a preview of the day two schedule, Jed opens the second frame with his LA rocker "Latest Craze," opening up into a bouncy jam that features a synth solo some searing guitar riffs, before segueing into "Moved To The Country." The storytelling continues with "Ride With The Devil" and its usual antecedant "One And," but it delivers an uncommon "Devil Jam" with a pounding rhythm and fiery guitar crescendos. When the smoke clears "Sunlight" rises. But Jed's not done jamming for the night, as he launches in the pop-rocker "Nothing's Ever Free," and extends it into a frenetic jam before closing the set with the up tempo "Used To Feel Good." Sticking with the alphabetical Phish encore theme that was used throughout the tour, he struggles through "Lifeboy" and makes it a double with "Light." Also included here is the "Road Trip" soundcheck. This is an historic show, opening a Jed run like none before, and you can tell Jed is excited as he has a "quite a buzz going" throughout the show. While it gets a bit sloppy here and there, the energy is off the hook and there are some great tunes and a few hot jams. Enjoy!
