View NotesIt's night two of a three night run at The Mumbling Goat in Second Life on the Jed Luckless Planet Sound Tour! Night one was a blast, so everyone was excited to be back to do it again, with Moonie on the lights and Jed ready to rock.

He opens the show slowly with "Time & Tide" a perfect way to ease into things, but then quickly ramps it up with "Water Glass" and its rockin' extended solo section. With barely a breath in between, Jed launches right into "Sugar Pop" to the crowd's delight. A song most often played by JLB, it's always a treat when Jed busts it out solo, and this time, he atypically extends it into the first improv jam of the night. It's a sweet, multi-part jam that extends over 26 minutes before it winds its way into an early Jed tune called "Jackie," which is followed up with a much newer tune "Lost In The Stars." Jed shakes off the rust on that one and moves to a debut of a new song called "A Thing or Two," and Jed shares the story of its origin and its lyricist, poet Jonathan Frazer Lessard. The set closes with the always high flying "The Kid That Tried To Fly," inspired by a true story.

Second set is a short one relatively speaking, but that's probably because the first set was so long. It's only really three songs, beginning with "A Brand New Day" from the 'Jammin Jed's AI Halloween' show which produces another twenty-something minute jam that features some killer drumming from Jed. The jam eventually gives way to the beautiful song "Own" off Jed's 'Multiply' album. The fast-paced and perilous "Story of Shirtless Joe" follows, which also delivers a nice improv jam before sliding back into a reprise of "Brand New Day" to close out the set. The encore features the Trey Anastasio song "Architect." Also included with this recording is Jed's soundcheck jam.

This is another fun show at The Goat, and thought the timing and flow seems a bit off (with a heavy first set and short second set), there are some really choice moments - don't skip the Sugar Pop jam or the awesome drum jam in Brand New Day. Enjoy!
