View NotesThe Jed Luckless Planet Sound tour makes a stop at Jed's home turf, Commune Utopia in Second Life. In case you didn't know Commune is where Jed lives in a quaint tree house not far from the venue, so it's always a great time when Jed swings through on his tours. Unfortunately this one gets pre-empted and Jed is severely late making it to the show. Still, he and Moonie do their best to recover and provide as much rockin' as they can in a shortened window. The show opens gently, with "Doigter," as Jed tries to compose himself, but then seemingly decides wth, and he launches into a nice long version of Phish's "Sand," appropriate for the Commune beach venue. "Growing Up In The 80's" is up next and gets some love from a crowd that did just that. It's followed by the title track from Jed's most recent studio album "Multiply," which opens up into a really cool jam with a strong bassline and some great start and stops to the rhythm. It segues really nicely into the emotional "Feel" which had the audience singing along. And despite getting an abbreviated show, they're treated to a Jed debut of brand new song called "Love And Wonder" a kind of somber piece based on a poem by Jonathan Frazer Lessard. The always fun and bouncy blueser "Old Town Hall" closes out the first set. Second set is super short, but it does feature a nice jam out of the opener "Pirate Chaser," joined with a rather perfunctory version of "Moved To The Country." You can tell Jed, and the crowd are losing steam at this point, so he launches into a very appropriate "On Hold" to close the set and takes on the fun bluegrasser "Margarita" as a quick encore to end the night. Despite the shortness, this show packs a nice punch, and is worth a listen just for the "Sand," the "Multiply" jam and the debut of "Love And Wonder." Enjoy!
