View NotesJLB 2.0 hits the stage for the first official time with all four members after playing as trio the week before (sans K-Man on bass). It's great to have Kenny back and the band builds on their momentum with a high energy show at the Virtual Hotel Chelsea in Secondlife. The show kicks off with the JLB original "Queen Lucille" from their "Roll The Tape" album, opening a set featuring originals the whole way through. The powerful combo of "Victim of the Rhythm" and "Englishtown" is repeated this show but provides a "tasty" 15 minutes of music, followed this time by the original instrumental "Valley Of The Saints" in place of the usual Dead cover. "Sugar Pop" provides a fun highlight with the band teasng "Fire On The Mountain" in the middle. Second set opens strongly with a couple cover tunes, the Phish tune "Sand" with a brief jam into the Bob Dylan classic "All Along the Watchtower." The band returns to the originals quickly though, breaking out the newer "Brother Love" off Jed's recent solo album and then delivering a lengthy outing of the Kenny Kaufman tune "Saw Mill River" with a double reprise and the David Bowie song "Space Oddity" inserted. Jed's original "Celebrate Instead" is also sandwiched in between, but gets off to a rough start as the rhythm transitions. The Saw Mill runs into the set closer "The Freeze" followed by a rocking "Suzy Greenberg" encore. Also included here is the sound check which was perhaps a better version of "Celebrate Instead." This is a fantastic first outing for the full roster of JLB 2.0, heavy on the originals and featuring some fun and exciting jams. Enjoy!
