View NotesThe JLB returns to Secondlife and The Jedstead to kick of a six-show run for fall! This JLB fall tour opener took place at the Virtual Hotel Chelsea and it's the first time the band had played live since the end of July. The boys are obviously well rested after a nice summer break, as they deliver a relaxed show full of JLB classics and a few choice jams. Set I kicks off enthusiastically with a pop, "Sugar Pop" that is, and it's a great start. But the band quickly downshifts into the Mark Gutenplan song "Road Trip" before revving things up again with Ken Kaufman's raging "Saw Mill River." The jam begins to take off but diverts into Jed's "Far Gone Blues." One of only two covers in the show comes next, the Trey Anastasio tune "Sand" which is paired with the poignant Luckless original "Celebrate Instead." Just in time for fall, "The Freeze" makes its first appearance since the last JLB Chelsea show on 6/7/16. The second set opens in classic JLB fashion with an extended "Victim Of The Rhythm" that winds its way into Mark's "Englishtown," paired here with an instrumental version of the Beatles "Dear Prudence." Jed's soulful rocker "Listen To The Angels" is the centerpiece of the second act, with dual guitars and a lengthy drum solo and jam. Gutenplan's sentimental "FM Rock" and Jed's bouncy "Used To Feel Good" close out the show. Another great show from JLB and the perfect start to their fall run. Enjoy!
