View NotesPitch correction of shnid 15821. Main Source: MSC > cassette > DAT > CoolEdit > CD > Peak edits > SHN (shnid 15821) Patch Source: (FOB)B+K 4011 > DAT > CDR/? > EAC > CDR > EAC > SHNv3 (shnid 4882) Edit: SHN > WAV > editing in Cool Edit Pro > CD Wave (patched tracks) > shntool > FLAC Main source time/pitch stretched to 104.23% to match FOB, which seems to have an all digi lineage and therefore no pitch issues. FOB patch source used to patch in drums and space. Transition between CDs 2 and 3 is seamless. Thanks to Peter Braverman for supplying the original SBD source, and Mark Fochesato for the AUD (available at LlaMA). Quality Note: The original source had EQ appied to it. There's also a warbly quality to it, whether from the EQ or cassette wow, I don't know. Slowing the speed seems to have actually made it less obvious, rather than more as I was expecting. Go figure. View NotesThis file set is from Dan Rogosa's master cassettes, with a short patch in space from his DAT recording from the same mics, SHNID # 165917. The audio has been pitch corrected to match the DAT. A previous seed of this recording, SHNID 165918, had a strange quirk: side A lacked treble and sounds muddy and distant compared to side B. After sending my Dragon out for restoration, a better transfer was made. Enjoy! --mhg :: 2023-11-09

View NotesThanks to Dan for taping and Charlie Miller for facilitating This file set is from Dan Rogosa's master cassettes, with a short patch in space from his DAT recording from the same mics, SHNID # 165917. The audio has been pitch corrected to match the DAT. The cassettes had a strange quirk: side A lacked treble and sounds muddy and distant compared to side B. After several transfers using different decks and azimuth adjustments, we concluded that this is just how the recordings are. Ozone EQ was used to brighten up the first side of each tape, but the sound quality changes noticeably after Black Throated Wind and at the end of the Drums. Enjoy! --mhg :: 2023-10-09
