It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac files. If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be stripped, however audio data will remain unaffected. If you must transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy. Use ffp to validate audio integrity. Md5 values will change if tagging is altered. dusborne 09-03-2013

View NotesNotes: AUD-only for first 2:53 of Alabama Getaway. Clicks and static occurrences removed or reduced: 2 in Alabama Getaway, 1 in Dire Wolf, 4 in Hell In A Bucket, 5 in West LA Fadeaway, 1 in Me And My Uncle, 2 in Mexicali Blues, 7 in Althea, 1 in CC Rider, 1 in Help On The Way, 7 in Franklin's Tower, 6 in Let It Grow, 4 in He's Gone, 2 in Space, 8 in Wang Dang Doodle, 1 in Morning Dew. Some anomalies remain after clean-up, mostly static from the sound system, in an otherwise great sounding SBD source. The minor analog noise in Althea (2nd occurrence) was reduced significantly. The Wang Dang Doodle PA noise was softened slightly. More frequent faint clicks occur during Space. One section of SBD dead air was trimmed out, between Bucket and West LA. Slightly more EQ work after West LA and Space due to sonic changes, then relatively much less EQ after Althea and the Wang Dang Doodle cut in the SBD - these adjustments were the same for both sets, so there are basically "A", "B" and "C" EQ settings applied to each set. (Typical subtle EQ work for these tapes, usually gently adjusting the high and/or low ends [in this case the high] to be more sonically palatable, done more to "fix" than "enhance" the sound. Mixing two sources together often requires compensatory EQ, where one or both sources are EQ'd. 31 band equalizer used.) #143081, recorded by Executive Crew Chris Kidwell, Tom Pinney and Sean Murtha (transferred by Kyle Holbrook), patches the tail end of Might As Well to preserve the audience applause. #141025, billydee's tape (Larry Sellers & the Philly Crew transfer via Joe Noel), appears to be patched out of the Executive Crew's Beyerdynamic M201 mic rig and patches 20 seconds of the beginning of Let It Grow (missing from #143081). 5 second dropouts in Space and Sugar Magnolia were also patched. 15 seconds were missing from Let It Grow in the SBD source. Bryant's excellent audience tape was the most optimal for this matrix and adds some nice full, clean bass response. He also recorded 9/10, yet billydee's tape (Beyerdynamic 180's) still seems better sounding for that particular matrix.

View NotesI was never very happy with my original matrix of September 11, 1983. The SBD recording has some funky mix issues, particularly too loud cymbals, especially a crash cymbal. There is also some annoying high-end fizz and quite a bit of tape hiss on the SBD, I did use Izotope RX 2 for some very light noise reduction. I remixed and smoothed out some of the crossfades on the original synced files in Reaper v4.61/x64, some great software from Waves was utilized to master the final mix. It's not perfect, but I think the extra time and work provides for a better listening experience. For best results, crank it up good and loud, enjoy this deservedly legendary show on Micky Hart's 40th birthday. Dusborne 12-02-2014
