View NotesNotes- First Stagger Lee since 12-04-79 d1t08 Missing first vocal line (Looks Like Rain) d2t01 Minor cut in start of track (Estimated) d2t02 Cut @ :33 (Terrapin) d2t03 Cut at start (Space) d2t06 Cut at very end of jam (NFA) set 2 is over 80 minutes so I have set the file names to place Never Trust a Woman at the end of disc one. Based on the locations of the cuts, it would seem that this was mastered originally with set 1 on a C90 or C100 cassette, and set 2 on a C100. With the exception of the uninterrupted CC Rider here, this source seems to have the same defects as gd82-08-04.sbd.willy.7388.sbeok.shnf, but based on the complete CC Rider, I will consider this to be an upgrade to that source. Everyone who appreciates the upgrade should thank Shane C. for requesting this in trade from my collection!

View Notes* levels start low, some up/down level movement then normalize around 1:45 // Tape flip / Our practice at the time was to stop the recorder after every time the band stopped. The theory was saving batteries and tape space. We would learn to record the entire show by Spring 83! I cut dead space or faded down/up at those cuts but there are a few harsh stops/starts-apologies from my 21 year old self! Kiel Auditorium St. Louis MO August 4 1982 Mic Location: 25 feet from RT stacks side section about 15 rows off floor Skip was still with us, but I can't recall if he made it into this show. Kiel auditorium is a concrete cave with awful acoustics. On top of that they busted all the tapers on the way in or near the sbd. We had tickets in the lower section about 2 sections from the speaker stacks. It didn't matter. The sound on this tape was always near the lowest of the run, and the setlist didn't have deadheads years later clamoring for it in trades. Listening back, it isn't an awful first set. I do have a distinct memory of heading back from the concessions during Promised Land and how boomy the building sounded with Phil's bass bouncing off the walls. The complete story of our summer tour can be read in the text file.

View NotesIt appears the tapers were far up and/or under the balcony, and despite best efforts, the recording fell prey to the building's janky acoustics. Start of Good Times & Estimated slightly clipped.
