View NotesThe Jed Luckless Band takes advantage of a warm November day to rock the Jedstead Patio with two sets of rock music and jams. The show was hosted in Secondlife by Moondance Parx at The Dome and featured her amazing light show.
The band kicks things off with a post-Hallo-ween nod in the form of "Ghost," the first of many Phish tunes to come. The opener spawns on of the longest jams of the night before a segue into the Grateful Dead's "Deal." A newer Jed Luckless original called "On Hold," is up next, followed by the Dead's "Loser," completing a run of tunes that seem to be a commentary on the week's election day events. The set amps up again with a JLB debut of Phish's "No Men In No Man's Land," followed by a rocking jam that winds into "Dear Mr. Fantasy," led by Mark Gutenplan on vocals. Jed's bluegrassy tale of lost-love "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea" closes the set (a song only played once before by the band).
Second set opens with Kenny Kaufman leading the band through the Talking Head tune "Cities" featuring an atmospheric jam that drifts into "Sneaking Sally Through The Alley." Mark has to depart, but the trio continues with another JLB original debut, Jed's tune "The 86," which features a soaring solo section and a melodic jam that evolves into the semi-instrumental "Umbrella Man." A Phish-Dead combo of "Twist" and "Not Fade Away" rounds out the set, and the double encore features a hurried "First Tube" but a great version of JLB's "Ozone Blues."
This is another fun outdoor socially distanced show on a gorgeous day at the Jedstead, featuring an interesting set list, several JLB debuts and a few tasty jams. Enjoy!
