View NotesIt's the opening show on Jammin Jed's EuroTour 2020! This is the fourth year in a row that Jed has undertaken a tour of European based venues in Second Life so that he can perform for fans in other time zones who don't usually get to come to his shows. This year the tour kicked off on May 9, 2020 in France at a venue called Celts Club which was a first-timer to Jed Tour and the first of 11 shows to come on the schedule. The show starts off with some Europe Tour history and introductions before Jed kicks it off perfectly with "Far Gone Blues" before going deep quickly with a 14 minute version of the powerful American history song "2000 Pikes" paired with the bluesy "Old Town Hall," which features a Little Richard tease. Jed treats the French to La Phish next, with his common pairing of "Sand" and "Dirt" connected by a nice jam. Jed's pop rocker "Still In Luv With U" closes out the first frame. After a brief set break and some words about togetherness, Jed hits second set hard with the quintissenial set two jammer "Give It Back," which lives up to its reputation producing a 23 minute jam that lands on the poignant "Smile Forever." Jed's "only French song" is next, the semi-instrumental "Doigter," followed by the Richard Brautigan inspired "Catfish Friend," dedicated to his friend Beachy who is in attendance. The only over cover tune of the night is next as Jed closes out the set in ecstatic fashion with the Velvet Undergound classic "Rock And Roll." The encore is Jed's Covid-19 relief collabration "Helping Hand," which is a great song, but sound better with all the other SL performers as heard on www.helpinghand.org. This is a fantastic opening salvo on what is sure to be a great EuroTour! It features a great setlist, a couple awesome jams, a perfect Phish pairing and a cool VU Cover. Enjoy!
