View NotesIt's Saint Patrick's Day at the Commune in Second Life with Jed Luckless and Moondance Parx! Most St. Patty's day celebrations were cancelled this year due to COVID-19, but thankfully the festivities could go on as planned in the virtual world of Second Life!

Jed and Moonie don't disappoint the revelers, delivering an amazing show packed with high energy music, rocking jams and a blazing light show. This was the second show on Jed's March Madness tour, but the first show featuring originals (the opener was an all TAB band show at the Dome).

Things get started with "The Story of Shirtless Joe," always a fun way to open things up. Jed settles in on "Doigter" next, his "only French song." After a few hello's to the always supportive Commune crowd, Jed pulls an old one out of his hat, the GuRGLe era blueser "Black Molly." And then it's time to turn up the heat, as jed launches into the LA rocker "Latest Craze," which spawns the first massive jam of the night, a wah-wah fest with biting guitar riffs that clocks in at 18 minutes before a sweet segue into the semi-instrumental "Umbrella Man." The set closes with a fairly new "composition", the sprawling "Second Hand Smile," with its multifacted segments and mix of styles.

Second set opens strong with "Doesn't" which as usual gives way to a nice improv jam that rises into "Sunlight." It's a nice pairing and the longest jam of the night, but believe it or not the highlight jam of the set is still ahead, after the debut of a Christine Lanfranco penned song called "Believe." Jed and Moonie then take off onto the high seas in "The 86," which floats away into a killer jam that features a driving backbeat and a cacophony of soaring guitar lines from Jed. It segues thematically into the ponderous "Time And Tide," both tunes having been inspired by the Penobscot Bay region of Maine. After a breath, Jed lightens things up with the first cover song of the night, Led Zeppelin's "Over The Hills And Far Away," always a fun song to close a set with. In honor of St. Patrick's day, Jed busts out his debut of "The Leprechaun Song" by singer/songwriter Cailidgh Spires, putting a fun exclamation point on a fantastic show.

This is a high energy concert at one of Jed's favorite places to play, with a great crowd in attendance, an amazing light show and a perfect mix of songs and jams that make it well worth a listen. Enjoy!
