Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 was used to align & sync all of the sources. CHS 2004 was used for mixdown and track separation. TLH was used to convert each track back to FLAC. TLH was used to fix all SBEs. Artwork designed by OctopusRider using MediaFACE 5.0. Original Sources SHNs/FLACs > WAV > CHS 2004 > WAV > FLAC(8) --------------------------------------------------------- Notes 3-Source Stereo Matrix by OctopusRider December 2008. The FOB source was the most complete of the 3 sources. It had a lot of extra crowd noise before the sets and during the encore break, which I left in tact. The SBD had a lot of cuts in between tracks. Virtually all crowd noise between sets and tracks were cut from the SBD source. This is probably because very little audience was audible on the SBD source. If not burned to CD, Drums > Space is seamless. The SBD sounds clean but has zero venue ambience, little bass punch and very dry vocals. When aligned the FOB improved all of these but in order to keep the rowdy crowd noise down I had to reduce the db level on this considerably. In doing that the venue ambience was reduced and it once again sounded like it was recorded in a small venue. This is where the AKG source comes in. The AKG sounds distant but clear and the crowd noise is considerably lower than the FOB. The volume was the lowest on the AKG so it did not need to be lowered as much as the FOB. The results are a big improvement for this show. It now sounds like it was recorded at Buckeye Lake but it still has the crispness of a clean SBD.

Seamless fix of shnid 19217
Taper Notes:
View Notes---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following fix was made to this source: the transition between disks 2 and 3 was made seamless. CE 2000, in conjunction with its statistics tool, was used to perform a reverse fade at the end of CD 2 and to match volume at the splice point between discs 2 and 3. Shntool was used to correct resulting sector boundary errors. Bill Tetzeli, [email protected] 2/16/2006 ------------------------------------

View Notesalmost no editing done, save for about 12 seconds of loud crowd screams on either end. A very nice show, especially second set when the energetic crowd settles down. Enjoy. **48kHz source available email Jamie at [email protected]** Listen carefully during Eyes (right channel) ... you'll hear a guy shout "I NEED A CONDOM" ... I look over and see a guy fully naked (at full staff with flag flying high) ... what does not really come through (thankfully) on the tape is that the guy is screaming I want to make love to Jerry Garcia ... truly a head full of dosed snakes ... security comes down with a plastic wrap (blanket?) that they wrap around the guy, pick him up on their shoulders and carry him away ... I know nothing to do with the music ... but one of the bizarre events that were always happening at shows. - Todd
