SBD + AUD Matrix Mix (60%-SBD/40%-AUD)
Taper Notes:
View Notes--------------------------------------------------------- Source Info SBD Taper: ? Source: SBD > MC > DAT Location: At the soundboard AUD Taper: Dave Brotman Source: FOB > Schoeps CMC54 (ORTF) > Aerco PS > DAT Location: 19th Row --------------------------------------------------------- Tech Notes SHNs were decoded to wave and SF 6.0 was used to reassemble the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align & synch the SBD & AUD sources. This is a 60% SBD, 40% AUD mix. - Mixed by [email protected] - Shn conversion done by [email protected] 10-AUG-2004 - Artwork by Mike Ahern and [email protected] 300dpi - For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. Design for use with a clear slim double jewel case. Special thanks to Mike for his hard work on this art. --------------------------------------------------------- Notes The levels were very low on the SBD source. I increased set 1 by 3.5db and set 2 by 7.5db. D1t4 'BIODTL' a 1 second AUD patch was made at approx 2.22 to cover a cut, dropout or skip in the SBD. Source change from SBD to AUD is obvious to the listener. D1t5 'Roses' a 1 second AUD patch was made at approx 0.22 to cover a cut, dropout or skip in the SBD. The result was smooth and most likely unnoticeable. D1 The SBD source was missing approx 2.38 of crowd cheer after 'Roses'. Most likely where the cassette flip was. The AUD source was trimmed to match. The result was smooth and most likely unnoticeable. D2 and D3 can be assembled seamlessly on longer media. NOTE: Burning options. You can also burn this as 2 CDs by putting D2T1 & D2T2 (Scarlet > Fire) on the end of the first CD. Obviously I set this up for 3 discs but in the end I ended up burning as a 2 disc myself. The artwork was setup to accomidate both options. D2 Both the SBD and the AUD sources had breaks bwtn the D2 and D3 change. The SBD source also had a cassette flip break. Fortunately the breaks were at different spots. I patched the missing SBD portions, approx 4 and 3 seconds, with the AUD. I patched the missing AUD portion, approx 6 seconds, with the SBD. The result was smooth and most likely unnoticeable. The SBD source faded out after the last song of set 2. It restarts at the very first notes of the encore. I adjusted the AUD source accordingly to match. I tried to make this as smooth as possible and it came out okay. I ran the center channel lower than usual (-5db) for this DTS 5.1 mix. This Scarlet > Fire is absolutely insane. Final/last "Believe It Or Not" 10-21-1988 (89 shows) Final/last "Hey Jude" 03-01-1969 (1522 shows)

Matrix by Jubal Hunter Seamons using Soundtrack Pro (FLAC > AIFF > Soundtrack > AIFF CD tracking via Audacity > FLAC16 via xACT w/meta-tagging) October 2, 2023
Taper Notes:
View NotesNotes: This new version of the matrix uses the Cutler truck mix instead of the Healy recording, and a greatly improved transfer of the audience source. While the SBD mix had extra ambience from the ambient mic, the crowd levels were generally distant or low. The audience tape adds some nice crowd energy here and some extra resonance. Many clicks and pops were removed. Some light static can be heard mostly between songs, during Space into Other One, and during the quiet parts in Hey Jude in the SBD source. Some of this static could be cleaned, but most remains.

Final/last "Believe It Or Not" 10-21-1988 (89 shows) Final/last "Hey Jude" 03-01-1969 (1522 shows) --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player.
