View Notes// - tape paused or flipped * from Hunter Trix Vol.112 SBD/MTX (see mastering notes for details) Mastering Notes: This super clean recording sounds and feels like it did back in '80s. The show with recorded using an 8’ mic-stand that was placed 12' left of center from the middle of Healy’s Board facility. Thus, this recording has great vocal quality, a thick/bold bass sound and good signal separation on both channels. (a) Set I had a couple of sound quality issues found in 'Brother Esau' (i.e., a saturated bass problem associated with too high recording levels at the beginning of this song; and, it also had a very minor, 12 second, low volume problem that occurs within the first minute of track #1, 'The Music Never Stops'; and (b) The final FLAC recording used a different version of ‘Big Railroad Blues’ and ‘Beat It On Down The Line’. When the tape was flipped during the first set these 2 tracks were recorded over with the next song in the Set....'Tennessee Jed'. These tracks where added from Hunter Trix Vol.112 SBD/MTX recording to full-out the show's actual play list (Hunter's MTX recording can be found at https://archive.org/details/gd1983-09-10.139379.mtx.seamons.ht112.flac16). All editing was performed to ensure the highest sound compatibility between each version of the show (i.e., without any noticeable loss of listening "enjoyablity"). Kevin T. Hughes

Taper Notes:
View NotesIMHO this source is better than any circulating version of this show. This version is a fresh transfer of master tapes that were recorded on a well cared for NAK 550. Although this is a 16.1/44 transfer I believe the superior bass response and ability to handle Phil Bombs of the Nak 550 make this the best version of this show, even surpassing the recent 24/96 MOTB transfer of a D5 master. I am curious to see if others agree. If the opportunity arises I will get a 24/48 transfer off the masters but for now it is what it is. I forgot to split The Other One and GDTRFB so for now I have left them as one track.
