View NotesNotes: - Thanks to Bob Wagner for the master cassette source. Bob and Barry Glassberg taped the Spring '80 shows together, they each had one Nakamichi 700 mic and each had a D5 deck. They ran their individual mics together as a pair and each recorded a master on their respective D5's. One night Bob was the lead deck, the next night Barry was the lead deck. Bob does not recall who was the lead deck on which nights. - Thanks to Charlie Miller for the transfer and coordinating this effort - Thanks to Joanie Walker and Charlie Miller for the Sony ECM250 source which supplies a 1:31 patch in "Drums" - Thanks to Joe B. Recorded By Mason Taylor on a Nakamichi 550 Cassette Deck, on chrome tapes, with Nakamichi microphones
Taper Notes:
View Notes"Mason B. Taylor was a taper from Chicago that recorded concerts by many bands in the Chicagoland area and on Dead tours. He used a Nakamichi 550 with Nakamichi 300 mics with shotgun capsules for most of his earlier recordings. In later years he used Sony D-5 and Sony D-3 cassette recorders with Nakamichi 300 mics. Mason captured spectacular musical moments and loved to share them with his closest friends. In honor of Mason and all the love he put into his recordings we are now able to share these moments with those who can appreciate them most. As the shows get uploaded we would love for you to share your stories about the epic times the music evokes so we can all dial back into that moment when the magic was happening. Thanks to Mason’s family and his Chicago and Cleveland friends for opening up Mason’s Jar…"

View NotesNotes: Please note that ALL fades between songs were done by Barry on the master tape during the show - to conserve tape - We left them all exactly as is, rather than cross fade them - Some of the fade outs at the end of the first set songs are abrubt with loud crowd cheering, and then the next song fades in with very little crowd noise - A cross fade here would sound very unnatural, plus if this source is ever needed for a matrix, this aud is the complete master tape - The only cross fade was applied during the tape flip in drums -
