Since COVID19 hit, Local H have been off the road and streaming as much content online as possible. They released a brand new record in April ("LIFERS") and have yet to play an actual show in front of fans to promote it. The idea of playing a "drive in" concert was brought up and they went with it. The show sold out so fast they added a 2nd night and that sold out as well! Everyone had their own space with their vehicle to sit (or stand) and social distancing was in place throughout the entire venue. Everyone wore masks to the concessions, merch or bathrooms. It went incredibly well! The band projected their own film clips on the giant screen above and ran a separate feed of a stage shot to screen #2 on the other side of the lot. The band took the stage at 9pm sharp. There were no openers. This was a 30 song set that lasted nearly 3 hours. On the recording, I ran 2 separate rigs simultaneously capturing the audience as well as the FM feed. While they both sounded "decent" separately, together they sounded fantastic. It was a bit of work to matrix both together, but in the end, it was the right thing to do. I did lower the audience a bit during the acoustic portion to phase out some nearby talkers. This was at its worst during "Sunday Best" (one of the highlights of the show). Now, you can barely tell. Please enjoy and share with as many fans as you can. Live music will return and will persevere. This is just the beginning. For more information on Local H, please visit: LocalH.com.
