It's the 8th Annual Jed Luckless Holiday Revue! The 2015 Jed Luckless Holiday review from December 20, 2015 featuring two sets of holiday tunes for a good cause, this year the very cause that allows this recording to be heard, The Internet Archive! It's a fun, light year full of classics, teases and jams. The show starts off with a bang, teasing the Grateful Dead's "Bertha" into the opener "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." After an introduction, Jed dedicates the next one to his new studio home, The Jedstead, with "I'll Be Home For Christmas." Some information on The Internet Archive is next, followed by the appearance of a favorite Christmas character, "Frosty The Snowman" with a Phish tease. The first big jam of the night comes next, out of "Silent Night" and into the bouncy "Twelve Days of Christmas." The red-nosed champion "Rudolph" runs his race next with the usual fanfare, and Jed wraps up the set with a dedication to the studio audience with "All I Want For Christmas." Intermission featured a series of highlights from various catalogs in The Internet Archive, including a vintage audio Christmas story, a live recording of The Jed Luckless Band and a classic Grateful Dead performance from Long Beach, CA. Second set opens with the rocker "Deck The Halls," paired with the more mellow "Have Yourself A Very Merry Christmas." The second big jam of the night shows up next in the Kinks' classic "Father Christmas," which leads into "Little Drummer Boy" complete with percussion. Jed has fun with a 'Deady' version of "Feliz Navidad" followed by Elvis' "Blue Christmas." Jed's familiar treatment of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" ala "The Mighty Quinn" closes out the set, and a "Holly Jolly Christmas" encore caps off another great Holiday Revue from Jammin Jed. Enjoy!
