View NotesGet ready to rock like the stone age with Jammin' Jed's Jurassic Halloween! It's Jed's 7th annual Halloween party at Darkstar in Secondlife, and like all Jed Luckless special events, it was an off the hook, one of a kind live musical party. Year seven's theme was Jurassic Park, so the Jed Heads were out in force as dinosaurs and cave dwellers to party at a special venue created for the show. Like in previous years, Jed take them theme seriously, this time weaving songs together with historical and scientific tidbits about dinosaurs, pre-history, the ice age and more. The first set focuses on the age of the dinosaurs, featuring the T-Rex and Brontosaurus on songs like "Big Boss Man" and "Uprooted" and following them through their demise at the hands of comets and ice ages, with songs like "Halley's Comet" and "Seven Below." The set ends on a hopeful note, with Jed's song about the promise of mankind's future "Come Tomorrow." Set Two begins with the rebirth of sunshine and tackles topics like evolution, with the Monkee's song "Stepping Stone," climate change via Jed's own "Ozone Blues," the passage of the world's era's with the Grateful Dead's "The Wheel," and the advancement of science with Phish's "Tube." The show closes with the traditional "Pumpkin Song" encore. Also included here is the soundcheck, Phish's "Steam" which Jed put in his PBVII setlist a few months later. An interesting note about the 10/28/15 show which Jed shares in one of his interludes is that it was the very last show performed in his Hudson River Studios, where he played 296 shows. This is definitely an historic Jed Luckless show full of great tunes, rockin jams and fun Halloween narration, and another in a long line of awesome Jammin Jed Halloween events. Enjoy!
