View NotesIt's Phish Bowl VI, Jammin Jed's sixth annual celebration of Phish and Football at Darkstar in Secondlife. Just like previous years, this one features two sets of live Phish covers performed by Jed Luckless, along with a halftime show and trophy presentation for best Phish show of 2014. Year six kicks off in style with the traditional football intro, national anthem and flyover with fireworks that launch into the first tune. This year's opener was "Chalk Dust Torture" and Jed jams it out nicely, introducing his theramin early on in the event. A bumpy "Gumbo" has a rare Jed restart, but gives Jed a chance to honor Frank Battitude and offer some thank you's. When the "Gumbo" heats up again it's worth it, particularly the end jam, and the rarer "Fee" that follows it wipes any bad taste away. First set features the obligatory Bob Marley birthday tribute with "Stir It Up" as well as a nice "Cities" jam and "Character Zero" set closer. Halftime this year features a medley of Super Bowl rock & roll performances, including Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and The Who. The Phish Bowl VI Trophy for best Phish show of the previous year was awarded to the now legendary Las Vegas show on 10/31/14 when the band covered Walt Disney's "Thrilling Chilling Sounds of the Haunted House." Second set kicks off with the "third quarter" winner "Carini" which segues into a nod to the Phish Bowl Trophy winner with the tune "Martian Monster" complete with Disney audio samples. The jam heavy set never really stops for long, with a "Ghost" & "Fuego" combo leading right into "Roses Are Free" with a Go-Go's tease. Jed takes a breather with "Dirt" and "Lawn Boy" before wrapping up the set with a powerful "Julius." A fun attempt at "Grind" starts the encore and the festivities end with a rocking version of "Suzy Greenberg." Another great Phish Bowl event in the record books...until next year! Enjoy!
