Taper Notes:
View NotesSet # 1 - Recording by Jim Oade & Jim Wise: This is a unique in that it's never been transferred in the 33 1/2 years it's been sitting in closets in various locations ...The Teac ME-120s actually have a nice sound to them.. Security was a PITA and our mic stand was about head level & there is some chatter, but after Dan Healy dials in the mix it sounds pretty good... Jim oade was using a JVC KD2 cassette recorder & one of the RCA outputs leading to my D5 was a bit squeamish & on my master there are some volume fluctuations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Set # 2 (partial) - Recording by Richie Stankiewicz & Jim Wise: I saw Richie was brazenly flying his Mic stand 20 feet in the air and he invited me to patch for set # 2 .. The Scarlet > Fire came out killer & is very different sounding than Bob Wagner's magnificent balcony recording ... But the forces were against me this night and for some reason there is intermittent weakening in one channel on my master for the rest of the set ... not to mention that security shut us completely down for during drums ... Recorded By Mason Taylor on a Nakamichi 550 Cassette Deck, on chrome tapes, with Nakamichi microphones
Taper Notes:
View Notes"Mason B. Taylor was a taper from Chicago that recorded concerts by many bands in the Chicagoland area and on Dead tours. He used a Nakamichi 550 with Nakamichi 300 mics with shotgun capsules for most of his earlier recordings. In later years he used Sony D-5 and Sony D-3 cassette recorders with Nakamichi 300 mics. Mason captured spectacular musical moments and loved to share them with his closest friends. In honor of Mason and all the love he put into his recordings we are now able to share these moments with those who can appreciate them most. As the shows get uploaded we would love for you to share your stories about the epic times the music evokes so we can all dial back into that moment when the magic was happening. Thanks to Mason’s family and his Chicago and Cleveland friends for opening up Mason’s Jar…"

View Notes*I'm not 100% sure if JM taped this or not. It appears that it's spread out over 3-4 tapes in a manner most un-moore-like. The drums fade out and I can't remember a tape where Jerry faded out before a flip. Regardless, I wish I had the rest of the show from this source to share. Hat's off to and thanks Jerry or whomever taped this. I wouldn't post a chopped up partial, but this is one helluva recording that begs to be turned up loud ( in my humble opinion of course ). :)
