View NotesSource Info: SBD: Set One: SBD -> Cassette Master -> Cassette -> Dat -> CD. This is not Charlie's source. I thought my source sounded a bit brighter so I used it. Set Two: SBD -> Cassette Master (Sony TCD5M/UDXL-II) -> Dat (Panasonic SV3800/48k) Seeded by Mr. Charlie Miller. shnid #29410 Audience: Nakamichi CM700's > Sony TCD5 > MAC 50ft. DFC Hand-Held Transfer: MAC > Nakamichi DR-1 > Benchmark ADC-1 > AES > Sound Devices 722 > WAV. Taped by Barry Glassberg, transfered by A. Egert and mastered by SIRMick. shnid # 86239 Tech Notes: I won't bore you with a bucnh of of useless info about what I did. My thoughts on a good Matrix is they are like hybrid vigour. When you mix two animals of high quality but very different characteristics, the resulting offspring is typically stronger than the parents. I hope I achieved this result. Any questions or comments feel free to email me at [email protected] Enjoy and peace. Jim

Bertha Remaster of a combination of soundboard and audience sources see info file
Lineage:

Taper Notes:
View NotesNotes: Digitally remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed Bertha, by [email protected] on April 3, 2003. The first sounds like it was from a different source than the second set. The channels were reversed on the first set, as well. The channels were corrected prior to processing. Because of the difference in sound quality between the first and second sets, they were processed separately. The objective, as well as improving the sonic quality, was to match the sound from set to set, as close as possible. The last 20 minutes of the show is patched from a Soundboard/Audience source and was also processed separately. The patches on d1t01 and d3t03 were done by others prior to receiving the show. Taper Notes:
View NotesFrom 1:33 to 5:58 of Shakedown Street there is a level drop in the Right channel. I used some FFT filters in Cool Edit Pro to make a version where the volume drop is less jarring - however there is a significant increase in the hiss in the Right channel. The original file is named d2t01 (clearly this is d2 of what would be a 3CD show - whether or not discs 1 & 3 circulate) - and the amended version is named d2t01-alternate. If you have the .shns, you have a choice of which version to burn to audio CD. I also retracked the Eyes>Space>Drums sequence.

Notes: * Special Thanks to Gerry for Taping this and sharing his masters with me, these were transferd from Gerry's Reel's in the Mid 1980's when tape trading & collecting had a social aspect to it. If you are familiar with Hot Tuna 5-8-74 Gym S.U.N.Y. Stonybrook, NY , Gerry Taped it as well as many other great shows ..enjoy.. ** My cassette was not labled with location but Gerry taped 11/2/79 Behind Stage Right 30' 300 Section elevation , this could be from same lcoation. The Band had a set of PA's above the drumers
