Design for use in a clear single jewel case. --------------------------------------------------------- Multitrack Mixdown Settings SET TWO Stereo Matrix SBD -2.5db AUD -5db --------------------------------------------------------- Notes Set 2 only. Set one circulates incomplete so I didn't bother. What we have is short but very sweet. I always thought of this set as the "most perfect Dead set ever played". The set list is genius, the transitions effortless and the playing inspired. d1t01 "Hitchcock Theme Tuning" was missing from the AUD source. This was patched was created with the SBD matrixed with a repeating crowd cheer. This patch came out smooth and natural and is very likely completely undetectable. d1t07 "Drums" is almost completely missing from the AUD source. This was patched was created with the SBD matrixed with a repeating crowd cheer. Mostly undetectable and not too distracting. d1t10 "Franklin's Tower" the very end is cut on the AUD source. This was patched was created with the SBD matrixed with a repeating crowd cheer. This patch came out smooth and natural and is very likely completely undetectable. d1t11 "One More Saturday Night" the very end is cut on the AUD source. This was patched was created with the SBD matrixed with a repeating crowd cheer. This patch came out smooth and natural and is very likely completely undetectable. d1t12 "U.S. Blues" The crowd cheer btwn the last song and the encore was missing on both the SBD and AUD sources. Crossfades were added to both sources to keep things flowing smooth and natural. This is is undetectable other than the fact that it sounds like there was an extremely short break for the encore. There was very little audio above 8kHz. So I did a matrix mix just the high frequencies of the SBD. I DEQ'd the AUD and cut all frequencies above 8kHz. I also DEQ'd the SBD and cut all frequencies below 8kHz. Then I mixed the 2 sources at a 100/100 ration. Basically the SBD fills in the missing top shelf of the AUD source. This came out extremely well and left the AUD source in the rear channel with a full frequency range without really changing the sound and feel for what is a very nice AUD recording. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound like DTS, Dolby Digital and DVD-Audio. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio-CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from FLAC files.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fix of shnid 10179 This source had to main flaws. First, the left channel was inverted, putting the whole show out of phase. Second, it's about 3% fast when compared with the circulating SBD and generated tones in Cool Edit. I reinverted the left channel and time/pitch stretched each track to 102.998% in Cool Edit Pro. Resulting SBEs were fixed using shntool. Other than that, this is an excellent sounding AUD, well worthy of the download. Many thanks to the original taper, Dave Minor for providing the DAT, and Marc Pujol and Matt Vernon for their work on getting this source out to the hoi paloi. Also to archive.org, from where I got this source. Amen. ;-) Fixed and seeded by Bill Tetzeli (
