Matrix by dusborne using Sound Forge Pro 10.0 and Audacity 2.0 06-11-2012 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes: Mix Ratio: SBD -0 db Aud -7 db ** some minor mix adjustments here and there when needed ** ---The SBD was about 1.6% fast. ---The AUD was about 2.5% slow. Set 1 ---shnid 35171 was used for the first 1 minute and 12 seconds of Sugaree. ---Sonic weirdness when the three different sources meet in Sugaree. ---SBD patched for 3 seconds during Sugaree. ---SBD patched for 25 seconds during Row Jimmy. ---First 20 seconds of TLEO is AUD only. ---First 3 seconds of Music is AUD only. Set 2 ---SBD patched 31 seconds during Dancin'. ---SBD patched 3 minutes and 7 seconds during Drums. ---SBD patched 7 seconds during Other One. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tagging notes: Show information is embedded within the header of each flac file. It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac files. If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be stripped, however audio data will remain unaffected. If you must transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy. Use ffp to validate audio integrity. Md5 values will change if tagging is altered. dusborne 06-11-2012

Patrick Clifford sent me this in order to work on set 1 of the black and white video that was done by BHP in 2005. The following changes were made to set 1 to match the video: 1) First 1 minute 11.956 seconds that is the lead into Sugaree used the audio that came with the video as it was better than the audience splice from the sbd source. This portion of the audio was normalized to blend in better. 2) Between Sugaree and Minglewood, 1 minute 52.707 seconds was missing from the soundboard source and filled in with audio from the original video soundtrack. This portion of the audio was normalized to blend in better. 3) Between Minglewood and Row Jimmy, 1 minute 24 seconds of video was missing that was filled by using graphics and audio source. This is part of 6 minute break between songs where Phil left the stage. 3) Between Big River and Loser, part of the video was missing - on all 3 audio sources I looked at, this part of the show was also missing so I was unable to fill in properly. When the video started again, the first 20 seconds was missing from the soundboard source and filled in with audio from the original video soundtrack. This portion of the audio was normalized to blend in better. 4) Between Loser and Looks Like Rain, part of the video was missing - on all 3 audio sources I looked at, this part of the show was also missing so I was unable to fill in properly. When the video started again, the first 1 minute 8 seconds was missing from the soundboard source and filled in with audio from the original video soundtrack. This portion of the audio was normalized to blend in better. 5) Between They Love Each Other and Music Never Stopped, 53.124 seconds were missing from the soundboard source and filled in with audio from the original video soundtrack. This portion of the audio was normalized to blend in better. Flaw Notes: 3 cutout spots in Sugaree- two that occur early on and one midsong. These were also present on the source DAT, so I'm told. Some could be edited out but I lack the expertise or software to do so. The rest of the cuts apparently exist on all known SBD copies. They are also noted in Vol 2 of the Taping Compendium. This is a simply an amazing show. The second set is alone responsible for my conversion into the Grateful Dead family. EAC'd and converted by Dave on June 3, 2001

Notes: This is a 1st-gen back-up copy apparently assembled shortly after the concert. Most of the crowd between songs was edited out, there's some abrupt transitions. While it's a bit echoey & distant, at least this doesn't have "howling guy" as heard all over ID-12078. With a big huge thanks to John & Rich Petrunis for these tapes!
