SBD + AUD Matrix Mix (50%-SBD/50%-AUD)
Taper Notes:
View NotesSource Info SBD SBD: Master Reel -> Master Dat (44.1k) AUD FOBalcony: MAC > DAT > CD Recorded by Bob Menke using Sony ECM-280 mics > Sony TC-152 from front of balcony --------------------------------------------------------- Tech Notes FLACs were decoded to wave and SF 6.0 was used to reassemble the tracks back to 1 long wave. Cool Edit Pro 2.0 was used to align & synch both of the sources. This is a 50% SBD, 50% AUD mix. - Mixed by [email protected] - SHN conversion 13-OCT-2004 - Remix & FLAC conversion 19-JAN-2005 - Artwork by [email protected] 300dpi - For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. Design for use with a clear single jewel case. --------------------------------------------------------- Notes This is all that circulates in the SBD source. The AUD source was lightly EQ'ed. A slight high end cut. AUD Patch Samson approx 4:35 to fill missing part of the SBD 29:58.490 to 31:31.560 total of 01:33.070. This is somewhat detectable but hardly. Which is really a statement to just how great the AUD source is. SBD Patch Drums approx 02:37 to fill missing part of the AUD 44:07.731 to 44:15.904 total of 0:08.172. This is smooth and most likely undetectable. Missing 22.027 crowd on AUD source between Around & Around and High Time. SBD trimmed accordingly to match with a 3 second crossfade. Smooth and most likely undetectable.

Bertha Remaster of the 2nd set Master Reel source
Lineage:
(*)SBD>>MR>>DAT>>SHN>>DAW(Bertha)>>CDA/SHN
Taper Notes:
View NotesDigitally remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed Bertha, by [email protected]. Completed on August 19, 2004. The source has lost much of its frequency range over the years. I would have suspected the master reel lineage if I did not know where it came from. Hopefully, some life has been brought back to this wonderful set of music. (*)Encore is from the Bertha Remaster of the Bertrando/Menke AUD source.

The AUD source was lightly EQ'ed. A slight high end cut. The AUD source was a bit overwhelming in the 5.1 mix. While I usually leave the levels alone, this time I mixed the AUD into the rear channels at -3db. In my experience louder rear channels is an undiserable effect. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way you would burn any normal Audio-CD from .shn files. ---------------------------------------------------------
