View NotesNotes: -- This has the same cuts as all other sources -- The first set is muddy but gets better for the second set -- The patch source was remastered to better match the rest of the show -- There is not a lot of stereo seperation on this mix (same as the FM's) -- Even though there's DJ talk, it's a SBD recording (from the Grateful Dead vault) -- Thanks to Rob Eaton and Dick Latvala for the Dat -- Thanks to Matt Smith and Scott Clugston for the patch source Setlist: 01 - Introduction 02 - Good Morning Little Schoolgirl 03 - Beat It On Down The Line 04 - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue 05 - I'm A King Bee

Taper Notes:
View Notes--this is from a reel recorded in '69. There are a few minor discontinuities/blemishes in the recording --there may be missing songs before Schoolgirl --several minutes are probably missing from the beginning of Schoolgirl. --there is a splice in Schoolgirl @ 1:26 --the first couple notes of Cryptical(1) are clipped --the band is forced to finish Viola Lee acapella after the plug is pulled on their instruments, presumably, for playing past Avalon curfew --Sound Forge was used for a slight pitch correction and a few minor edits

View NotesCOMMENTS from deadlists Total time [1:36:18 +]. This show was broadcast live on KPFA-FM Berkeley. The FM broadcast, from which the circulating tape derives, cuts in during Good Morning Little Schoolgirl. The cassette master of the FM broadcast from which these timings come has cuts, both brief, during Cryptical reprise at 6:20 and 7:09. At 10:48 into the Viola Lee Blues the Dead's instruments lose power, Bobby says "It seems someone is trying to tell us something" and they finish the tune with a chorus of vocals only. From Keith Hunter & Jack Warner Extraction, Retracking and SHN encoding by Alan J. Fink Additional editing 1. Added the DJ intro found before Schoolgirl, 2. Some stage banter/announcements found after King Bee and 3. Some stage banter/announcements found after Viola Lee Blues from Jack Warner's copy to Keith Hunter's cleaner copy. Properly aligned sector boundaries verified with .shntool

View Notesnotes - more complete intro than circulating sources - not sure if Bear's mix or the FM broadcast made this mono - very good sound, tolerable tape hiss, as the transfer sounds, no manipulation
