View NotesHighlights: tracks 6 & 14 Players: Charles Atkins - keyboards and vocals The Blues Boys Larry Laseur - harmonica, backup vocals Harty Wiedemann - guitar Tom Henning - guitar with Matt Thibeault - bass This is really a practice tape, mostly walkthrus and Charles calling out changes; lots of new material for the Boys to learn, especially guitar. The mix on the first track is pretty bad - I think I heard this new song by Charles and Harty and stuck a tape in real quick, picked up during solos, and then started checking levels. Mix improves as we go along. Mic levels in the room must have been quite low. Matt is on bass tonight altho we don't hear him much and I'm not sure if there was a drummer. There are some funny moments throughout. Charles gets a little hoarse near the end, and I'm guessing there was a bunch of songs covered before the tape starts rolling. The last track is about the best but then the tape runs out during Larry's harp solo. Anyway - if anyone wants to learn a song ala Charles, hear's your chance. Jan 2009 Enjoy! SCopeland
