DSBD/AUD ('on the fly' matrix)
Lineage:
Flac conversion info: MCD-R -> Plextor (PX708A) -> EAC -> CDWAVE -> Flac Frontend -> Flac
Taper Notes:
View NotesDSBD/AUD ('on the fly' matrix): ((SBD via XLR/RCA cables + RCA to 1/8" stereo mini Y-adapter ->Sony D-7 ->line out 1/8" stereo mini/RCA cable) @ approx. 40% + (AKG C 451 B/ST (70 deg., 10" separation, 11' high, right side of dance floor right in front of SBD, 12-15' back from stage) @ approx. 60%) ->Edirol UA-5 (Oade P-Mod.) @ 48/16 ->MDAT (Sony PCM-M1; playback on Sony PCM-R500) ->MCD-R (via coax ->Tascam CD-RW750, no digital gain applied/needed). Taper's note: This is an incredible sounding matrix recording of an incredible sold-out show, with a little more audience emphasis vs. the soundboard feed. Many thanks to Ben Hines for the soundboard feed and great front of house sound, to Craig Satzman for showing up with the right cables to run the soundboard feed and letting me take a line out from his D-7 to mix with the AKGs, and to the other tapers and friends who helped block the mic stand on the very crowded dance floor. This was my first attempt at an on the fly matrix using the UA-5 and I cannot imagine how it could have possibly worked out better. The SBD only feed is available for download on archive.org (anyone should feel free to upload the matrix source as well). Flac'd and seeded by James O'Brien
