The day prior we had learned suddenly that our brother Vinnie had been shot and killed. It was an emotional time — and still is — full of lots of sadness and at the same time lots of Love. The Stone Sugar Shakedown and friends, joined by Vinnie’s immediate family and many others, gathered to lift each others’ spirits and to remember His. Words can’t do much justice to express how tremendous of a loss this was. Words can’t do ANY justice to express how kind and cool of a human Vincenzoid was. He’d been around since the band began in 2009 and had journeyed with us. He lived with Tracy and I last Summer, and the three of us shared many laughs and careless memories. He loved slack-lining, people, smiling, joking, drawing, generosity, taking his time, and most of all MUSIC. This show will forever serve as an offering in remembrance of Vinnie, with condolences and deep sympathy for his family. And from now on he will be at every show — in every jam and chorus — cheering us on from within and grinning. A LETTER TO OUR BELOVED BROTHER: You will always be our friend, and you have always been a friend to us. You have taught us more than words can express. Your capacity to Love was unbounded. You were pure joy, pure good, and represented the best in all of us. You danced barefoot, laughed madly, smiled freely, and shined brightly in a world full of shadow. You never lost your cool. You walked the slackline between fear and pride so gracefully that I'll never -- ever -- forget it. We will never forget YOU, Goombadi. Thanks for being our friend, brother, companion, and angel, Vincenzoid. Thanks for all the Good Times... May we honor you with each blessed day -- with each breath. In God's Garden you have always been the kindest and brightest bloom. NO, OUR LOVE WILL NOT FADE AWAY. Om Shanti Om Rest in Paradise, friend.
