View NotesBob Weir (Robert Hall Weir) - guitar, vox Jay "Rhino Boy" Lane - drums, percussion, cajón, b.vox Robin Sylvester - bass, stand up bass, b.vox Jeff Chimenti (Jeffrey Chimenti) - keys, b.vox Kenny Brooks (aka 'Ken Brooks') - saxophones Mark Karan - guitar, b.vox vg NOTES (2026-05-06): --https://ratdog.org/2005-10-29/photos --https://ratdog.org/2005-10-29/reviews --this was Robin Sylvester's 150th Show --I added the band members info --corrected some song titles toward how they appear on the original albums --added more detail to the setlist info & venue info --this place was built at the same address as the Prohibition-era nightclub "Town Barn," which burned in a fire...it reopened on 1944-12-31 as "Town Casino" (1944-12-31 thru 1965) & was known as the "most luxurious theatre-restaurant in America" & a staple of Buffalo nightlife - during this time the place had a nightly allotment of dancing showgirls, formally dressed dinner guests, & nefarious characters sipping sidecars in its clandestine basement bar with gambling & other nefarious business going on, mob activities, etc. (some places state that Al Capone was among the characters down there, but he died in 1947 & was apparently in serious decline in the last few years of his life, so it's unlikely he would have made it out to play cards between late 1944-1947, though it's possible, of course...maybe sources of this info meant he was there carrying on during the time when it was the Prohibition-era nightclub "Town Barn")...after the "Town Casino" era, the building served various roles, first, after a 40-day, $250,000 renovation converting the nightclub into a proper theater, as the "Studio Arena Theatre" (1965-1985); then as "UB's Pfeiffer Theatre" (1985 thru 2003); then in early 2003 it was remodeled into "Sphere Entertainment Complex" (aka "The Sphere"; aka "Sphere Nightclub") (2003-2005)...in March 2005, promoters Artie Kwitchoff & Donny Kutzbach acquired & renovated the building, restoring the original bar & lounge while transforming it into a premier, 1,000-capacity live music venue & opened it in mid-September 2005 as the "Town Ballroom" (mid-September 2005 thru present [2026]) --https://townballroom.com/ --https://www.facebook.com/townballroom --https://hellobuffalohikes.com/the-town-ballroom-the-town-casino/ --https://visitbuffalo.com/town-ballroom-amplifies-the-spirits-of-buffalos-famous-casino/ --added pics of the venue & one from the night
