Reviews of set from https://ratdog.org/2005-08-12/reviews: --RatDog - August 12, 2005 - Indian Lookout Country Club, Mariaville, NY --"Absolutely hands down one of the better shows I have seen of any band all summer long. Dark Star > West LA Fadeaway was truly jawdropping. The rainstorm was intoxicating; every crash of lightning brought with it a roar from the crowd that the band was picking up on! I have not boogied that hard at a show in a while..... My legs are feeling it now! Woohoo!" - Phil Ziegler, Columbus, OH --"The Vibes was incredible! The show was the most weather- and crowd-inspired I have seen since the GD played the rain show in Pittsburgh. The energy coming from Mother Nature fueled Bobby and the crowd. The louder the thunder and the closer the lightning got, the harder we danced and the harder they rocked! They had every opportunity to stop and run for cover but did not! At one point someone came out and tapped Bobby on the shoulder and gave him the break sign; he shook his head and said nah!!!!! I will leave the set-list and such to others but I will say this.... Donna sang her heart out all weekend long, and she definitely fed off of us and the outpouring of love she received. Thanks to all for making this one of the best...." - murph, Endicott, NY --"What a weekend. Not only did we get an evening with Ratdog, but three days of incredible music. It was brain overload and and at one point I was speechless and thankful to be along for this cosmic ride. I decided to go VIP for the convenience factor and it lived up to the hype. My only disappointment was the small confined viewing area that veed up to the right hand stage so you couldn't get a clear view of the artists. The speakers were in the way and by the time you figured that out, it was too late to get up on the rail unless you wanted to be pushy. The rain that came with thunder and lightning was welcoming and the boys only played harder. They were on fire. Thank you again for a real good time." - Kyra, Manchester, NH vg NOTES (2026-05-10): --https://ratdog.org/2005-08-12/photos --https://ratdog.org/2005-08-12/reviews --it apparently rained super hard during this set with lightning & thunder adding to the vibe --"Gathering Of the Vibes 2005" took place August 12-14, 2005...it was the 'special 10-year anniversary of Jerry Garcia's death' --music began at 11:00am each day...it went all thru the night into the wee wee hours on Friday & Saturday...it ended at 8:00pm on the Sunday with a Pack Out by 10:00pm!! --artists who performed at the "Gathering Of the Vibes 2005": --------2005-08-12: ----------------Main Stage (from start to finish): the Zen Tricksters; Ryan Montbleau Band; Windfalls feat.Members Of Strangefolk; Assembly Of Dust (AOD); RatDog; ----------------Jam Stage (from start to finish): the Rafter Bats; Scarecrow Collection; Juggling Suns; Leo Nocentelli & Friends ----------------Late Night Festivities (from start to finish): John Brown's Body; Drum Circle; Late Night Movie Late night Rob Wasserman set; --------2005-08-13: ----------------Main Stage (from start to finish): the Jazz Mandolin Project; Keller Williams; Deep Banana Blackout; 'A 10 Year Tribute To Jerry Garcia & the Grateful Dead featuring Dark Star Orchestra with Special Guests Peter Rowan, David Nelson, Melvin Seals, Gloria Jones, Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, Tom Constanten, Martín Fierro & Friends'; ----------------Jam Stage (from start to finish): Depth Quartet; RAQ; David Gans; Ominous Seapods (reunion); ----------------Late Night Festivities (from start to finish): the New Deal; Drum Circle; Late Night Movie --------2005-08-14: ----------------Main Stage (from start to finish): Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers; Railroad Earth; the Del McCoury Band; Medeski Martin & Wood featuring John Scofield (became "MSMW" in 2006); ----------------Jam Stage (from start to finish): Chuch; Jonah Smith; Zox --Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay was there the entire weekend & sat in with plenty fo folks throughout the festival, including RatDog, David Gans, her aforementioned part of the Jerry/GD Tribute & possibly Depth Quartet --Master Of Ceremonies - Wavy Gravy (for the entire weekend) --I added the band members info --corrected some song titles toward how they appear on the original albums --added more detail to the setlist info & venue info --this festival does not exist anymore as of 2026..."Gathering Of the Vibes" (aka "GOTV") was an annual 3 or 4-day music, camping & arts festival that celebrated the Grateful Dead & showcased a diverse variety of music...in began its life in 1996 & always had 2 stages with continuous music going on, plus food & beverages, & a variety of both handmade crafts & imported goods along the "Craft Vendor Row" that was known as "Shakedown Street", & which was highlighted by many types of vendors, an Art Gallery, along with Vibes merchandise - this festival also showcased non-profit organizations in a Non-Profit "Village" with an emphasis on local groups...information & demonstrations included everything from environmental awareness to social consciousness & beginning in 1999, The Vibes also hosted an annual non-perishable food & hygiene product drive to benefit a local food bank...the festival's inaugural weekend was called "Deadhead Heaven - A Gathering Of the Tribe", but was renamed "Gathering Of the Vibes the following year in 1997...the very first year (1996) it took place at SUNY Purchase, Purchase, NY; then moved to Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson, NY (1997); then Plattsburgh, NY (16 miles from the Canada–US border) (1998); then Seaside Park, Bridgeport, CT (1999-2000); then Red Hook, Dutchess County, NY (2001); then found a home for a few years at Indian Lookout Country Club, Mariaville Lake, NY (2002-2006); then back to their previous stomping ground at Seaside Park, Bridgeport, CT (2007-2015)...after 2015, they decided to take a break in 2016 with a claim from the organizers that they were "using the time to plan ahead and envision how the event could continue to grow in a fun & exciting way" & that they "planned to return in 2017", but that break unfortunately became permanent as a January 31, 2017 message from the GOTV peeps stated, "made the difficult decision not to move forward with 'Gathering Of the Vibes' in 2017" & that has been it as of 2026 --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gathering_of_the_Vibes --https://www.gratefulweb.com/articles/gathering-of-the-vibes-2005/ --https://www.facebook.com/IndianLookoutCountryClub/ --added pics of the venue & the posters for the festival along with an actual schedule image & 1 of Wavy from the festival
