View NotesSpecial thanks to Adam and Larry for letting me put my mics onstage and to Jeff at the Hotel Utah for the SBD patch during the late show. This was a special night of music. Fans of acoustic guitar music in the bay area got a treat this past Saturday. A true treat to see two of the best currently touring acoustic guitar players play together. For those that missed it, this recording captured it pretty well, in my opinion. I hope that you enjoy it. For the first show I tried to get a board patch as well as the microphones, but alas, the proper connectors were in the car trunk down the block. Between sets I went out to the car and got the cables and adapters I needed to get the headphone feed from the soundboard, which broadened the dynamic range of the recording, even though it was a stereo feed recorded in mono. This file was matched with each channel of the microphone tracks and recombined as a 50-50 blend of the SBD and mics. This was the best I could do in the situation. Before the show Adam thought the best sound might be in the house as the previous nights were really quiet with respectful audiences. I am glad that I put the mics onstage, as there were a number of talkers and singers in the crowd that would have made a mid-room mic placement sound terrible.
