Here's a show from Jammin Jed's "300 TOur" in Secondlife, which celebrated his having played 300 shows. THis is show #302 and it took place on 8/19/14 at The Blarney Stone where it was Jed's 16th appearance. The show starts off with the intense storyteller "Old Man Miller," featuring a nice solo portion, but no extended jam. Tune number two is a blues original inspired by Maine called "Miss Lizzy," and Jed delivers some nice slide guitar work on it. The teen-angsty "Nose Ring" is up next. It feels right at the Blarney, and Jed feels it too as he extends the song into the first lengthy jam of the evening. This is before Jed moved to the Jedstead so there's no drum kit, but he builds a nice layered jam that has a variety of great tones. The jam segues into the GuRGLe-era tune "Friendly Burial," which as always features a powerful middle section. The first cover song of the night comes next, and it';s the fun Phish song "Scent Of A Mule," complete with alien story from Jed and weaving in Bob Dylan's "Masterpiece." The set closes with an energetic cover of Cailidgh Spires' "The Song With Words And Stuff." Second set opens uncharacteristically with "By and Bye," and as a result feels like the show is gonna end right there. But thankfully it doesn't. But it does slow down for a moment as Jed breaks out his soulful original "It Ain't Living." The pace gets lively again with "Geneva Sue," then things turn serious with "Valley of the Saints," and the second nice jam of the night, which includes a nice bouncy rhythm built on shakers and hand drums. The layered guitars build to a frenzy before fading into an ambient bridge section that eventually becomes the original rocker "Lead Me," off Jed's 2010 All At Once album. The upbeat "Slipping Through My Hands" and the title track from said 2010 album "All At Once," close out another fun show at The Blarney Stone. This is a solid show full of original Jed Luckless music with a few nice little jams, several good stories and a lot of great energy. Enjoy!
