It's the opening show from Jammin Jed's '300' Tour in 2014, which featured eight shows over four weeks and culminated with his 300th total performance. The show took place at Alligator Beach in Secondlife. It's a pretty hot show for a tour opener, but it takes a little time for it to really lift off. The ambitious "Luna Overture" opener isnt quite as smooth as it should be, but it was part of Jed's plan to play pieces from the musical epic throughout the tour, and it's followed by a rocking "Ozone Blues." "Old Man Miller" is a bit somber for this early in the show, but it's Papa Jed's "favorite song" so who's to argue. Jed follows it with a new original called "Barter Creek." The first cover of the night comes up next, and it's a familiar one, Phish's "Sand," with a nice jam attached. It's oddly paired here with Jed's veteran-themed ballad "Bring Our Brothers Home," though it's a nice version of the song. The set lightens up again with a song from another brother, "Brother Love," and blasts off with the closer "Hard To Handle," always a fun one from Jed. Second set opens with the debut of a little ditty called "Presents Are Fun" followed by "On The Shelf" from Jed's 2010 "All At Once" album. Another cut from that album follows, with "The Wane" before Jed heads back to Phishdom with a nice two punch of "Poor Heart" and "Waste." The second set peak hits with a lenghty version of Jed's "Listen To The Angels" followed by his seafaring tale "Time and Tide." Two bouncy originals round out the set, the blue-grassy "Where The Mountains Meet The Sea," and the calypsish "By And Bye." In honor of Phish tour, Jed closes the show with a double whammy Phish encore featurng "First Tube" and "Sleeping Monkey." This is a fun show from the start of one of Jed's most historic tours. There's a few technical issues that cause some static and fuzz in just a few spots, but it's a show worth giving a listen to for a ton of great Jed Luckless originals and some rocking Phish covers. Enjoy!
